I would give a dollar to not have to go to bed yet. I'm feeling a little excited, and I want to stay awake and make lists. Just because my eyes are burning and I'm so sleepy I can barely stay awake.. that shouldn't mean anything, right?

One of the things that I'm excited about is the cabinet we've decided to buy for our computer room. We bought these two desks last year and encountered a large cabinet at Office Depot yesterday that would match perfectly. We don't technically need it, but I think we've realized that we can't live without it, even though we didn't know that yesterday morning. And, of course, we can't exactly buy new furniture without rearranging the stuff we've got! That would just be wrong. Maybe everyone doesn't have such a love for furniture rearrangement, but you have to realize that for the first three and a half years we were married, it was generally impossible to rearrange furniture in any given room because of the space constraints. We were using every available inch of space and then some. I am crazily homesick for that place sometimes. We kept waiting to move when we were there, but now I can appreciate what a nice little life we had. Of course, now we're actually moving forward on all sorts of life things instead of just sitting around in that nice little life we had, but still. The grass is always bluer, as they say. Well, I guess they normally say the grass is always greener, but this is Kentucky, and everyone knows that the grass is blue here. Well, except that it's not, but it is. Right, chick?

The dinner last night was fun, by the way. The food kind of sucked, but the place really is very very nice, and I suppose that really does make up for it.. as long as it's just once a year. It lasted a little longer than we expected, so we didn't make it to Morehead until after eleven. That was kind of okay because my parents pulled into the driveway just as we were getting out of the car. I swear, they seem to think they have my permission to be out late like that! Don't they know that they're supposed to sit at home and watch TV on Saturday nights? That's actually kind of laughable because my parents are hardly ever at home. They're not, however, out late all that often, but there was a fish fry/auction last night. My dad is one of those people who likes to call people at seven in the morning on a weekend just to make sure they're awake. He can't really lead that lifestyle if he isn't at home in time to go to bed at a decent hour.

Sometimes my boy's head doesn't work quite right. He laid out a pair of khakis for tomorrow, but noticed that they were terribly wrinkled, so he commented on it. What he meant to say was, "Oh, crap--my pants." What he actually said was "I crapped my pants." You can expect that I swung my head around pretty fast at that one. Speaking of funny things that M says.. he had a mispronounciation today that made me giggle. Instead of saying "scold", he said "scald". I had to insist that he try to straighten that one out at least by the time we have kids, or we might end up in some serious trouble. "Junior was being such a little brat, so I scalded him good." would probably not go over very well with his in-laws. Or law enforcement, at that.

I am so procrastinating at going to bed. I will really regret that in the morning, Why am I not smart enough to learn from experience on this one?
