M doesn't have to work tomorrow because he worked until eight last night. Thus, we have been going back and forth on what we should do this weekend. We've had plans to go somewhere overnight, or just for the day, or staying at home, or having people over, or general out-and-about-ness. And yet, we can't for the life of us figure out exactly what we want to do. Options include Kentucky Kingdom (amusement park), Mammoth Caves, Jungle Jims (international food store in Cinci, mainly for the procurement of Julmust). Hindering our plans to some degree is that the weather is terribly warm, with isolated thunderstorms scheduled. Not sure it's really the best day for Kentucky Kingdom--and by the way, they keep telling me that we're in the middle of a DROUGHT. So why is it then that every time we plan to go there, the forecast is for RAIN? Hmph.)

I am feeling hopelessly uninspired for writing tonight. I'm sitting here thinking of trying to work on our network, but knowing that if I do that, I'm going to waste a lot of time, be really frustrated, and accomplish nothing. We bought a wireless router when we got the laptop, and it was a bitch to install. When we finally got everything running, it started slowing down until finally it was significantly worse than dial-up and then mostly non-existant. In a moment of frustration while trying to get MM done with no connection, I ripped the wireless router out and plugged the old one back in. Tada! Instant DSL speeds again! And frankly, I don't have the energy or the inclination to worry about the security aspects of a wireless network. However, we have the router, and if we don't have it running, we can't use the laptop downstairs like we had planned. So what I really want to do is be able to plug the wireless router into the non-wireless router only when we want to use it and have the laptop the only computer in our network that connects wirelessly. I just have this sneaking feeling that it's not going to be easy, considering how much trouble we had getting it to work while doing it the recommended way. Oh, and I fully expect that exactly two of you will have read this far into this paragraph and that's totally okay. It's really not that important in the grand scheme of things. I would like to have it off my to do list, though, so I guess I'll take a stab at it anyway.
