same_sky: (sweden: a house)
Last night M and I were watching a movie on the couch, and I, as per my usual, was laying with my head in his lap, both on my side and on my stomach. When I got up, I was hit by stabbing pains in my left shoulder. By ten o'clock, I was in bed, nearly in tears from it. I did try to post just before I went to bed but sitting in the chair made it worse, so I gave up. There goes my every-day-in-August. Oh, well. M was quite solicitous, massaging and rubbing and checking in on me, and he also remembered that his aunt gave us (well, him, I guess) a.. umm.. wheat belt is what M called it, and I haven't the faintest idea if there's a better word for it. Lundmyr website (it's in Swedish, but click on the second picture down on the left, the one that has a heading of "Så här värmer du vetebältet". No direct link because it breaks the site. And, oOurs is just like that, only black.) Anyway. It's quite helpful and extremely cozy and it smells of lavendar. So, I didn't get a lot of good sleep last night, but Excedrin, the wheat belt and possibly a popping-in-place thing I did this morning have made things much nicer for me, although still not painfree yet.

But anyway, before that, it was a pretty nice day. We went off to Lexington to meet my parents for lunch, did a minimal amount of shopping and then decided to just come home. We had lots of plans but they just didn't happen, which is pretty much okay. Bad weather in the afternoon, and my stomach is so queasy-sensitive right now that I can barely handle speed bumps, much less amusement park rides, so we put that off too. (I have a natural inclination towards queasiness that started abruptly when I was fifteen. It goes in spells.)

Today, any plans that we might have made would be out anyway due to my shoulder thing. I forsee a nice, lazy day at home. I'm planning on doing some computer work, M needs to call his parents, and if I'm really lucky, he'll clean the bathrooms, too. Ahem.

And now for something completely different: M called his work cell phone voicemail today. It has this speakerphone thingie so I was listening to it. It answered, he entered his password and it said, "Hello. You have one unplayed message. Thank you for calling. Goodbye." Click. It was so funny. Not exactly the most useful system ever, huh?
