quickie post
Oct. 17th, 2005 08:19 pmI hate computers. And I really don't have time or the inclination to go into the details, but things are going really well except that it's sucking miserably. Yay! Computers!
(I bet you all liked me better before it started bugging me that my calendar had missing days..)
Updated to add!
M and I are perfectly suited in a hundred thousand different ways, but one way that makes me giggle is that we are good at different things when it comes to computers, which means that between the two of us, we can keep our electronic lives in order pretty well. I am quite good at software issues; he is much better at hardware issues. (Speaking of which, I should post the mudwedding vows we wrote sometime.. but I'll probably just find them and giggle madly and say, "I'm not posting THAT!") Now we're at the point where if it involves taking the thing apart, I won't even touch it, whereas I've been in charge of three out of four of his last Windows reinstallations, among other things. The problem I spent the entire day trying to resolve was that Windows refused to acknowlege 60GB of my hard drive space, which offended me on many levels (namely because IT WORKED before the reinstall.) There was much Googling, which led me to believe that it might help in some unknown way if we took the thing apart and did some sort of magic on it. (This could have been an excuse to stop fiddling with it and turn the thing over to the boy, but still.) And.. it's fixed! It's optimized! It's totally not the setup that I had envisioned but it is better! And it's all because of the boy. (Thank you, Boy!) I love being married (and only partially because he makes me swoon when he talks geek to me.)
