sugar craving
Nov. 21st, 2005 07:59 pmI have a really horrible sweet tooth tonight. That's kind of unusual for me.. I like desserts but hardly ever eat them.. M will always take salty over sweet and I'm not much on making stuff to eat by myself. I have Halloween candy but what I really want is apple pie, or at least something warm and gooey and sweet. I don't even necessarily care for apple pie but I keep thinking about it recently. I think it's because FoodTV is showing the national pie competition all the time right now. Or, at least, I've seen it twice in two days. Maybe I should go make some oatmeal cookies.. that might do the trick, and I can take anything I haven't eaten by Thursday up to foist off on family. Good plan.
M still is scheduled to work on Thanksgiving at his job in hell, and so I am still sad. However, he did find out today that they would give him Friday off, and that's good because we have major shopping plans for Friday morning! Well, actually, we don't necessarily, but I do love the Thanksgiving sale papers. And I'm certainly not boycotting the stores on Friday, either, because I think that's silly--it doesn't make it not happen the next year, it doesn't diminish their profits (actually, you could say that it increases their profits if you go buy something at the higher price in a week) and it's not at the top of my list of things that compel me to activism. So.. whether or not we get out or not depends upon the sale papers on Thursday. I figure we'll be hanging around the house, though, because we were saying just today that we were looking forward to some time at home this weekend.
I have now folded a box, a ball and a bird. I might even have told M this evening on the phone that I had to go fold paper. I'm not sure I'm into the idea of becoming a major origami hobbyist, but it's been plenty of fun.. might take some pictures later but I bet they won't photograph well.
Yep, oatmeal cookies. Peanut butter, not nasty chocolate. Yummy!
