worthless, vaguely incoherent rambling

I think I should buy myself a new chair because this one seems to have issues lately with falling down. And I definitely need a new phone, and I think I have it picked out, as who doesn't need a Blackberry? And I also need a new vacuum, preferably one of those Dyson vacuums that cost the earth but have the adorably accented British guy in the commercials yammering on about he just wants things to work properly. And of course, a shower curtain replacement and a coat rack. Don't forget the house, need one of those too. And a battery for my dustbuster, or maybe I just need to buy a new one, but it sucks in the way that it no longer sucks. And I also need a digital video camera because we don't have nearly enough electronic items gathering dust around here! Also, dishes.. we've been planning on buying new dishes for ages now and have never done it because it costs way too much.

I have no idea what's gotten into me lately. I am normally not that into buying stuff but lately it's all I want to do. And that's after Christmas, when I got all sorts of things I had asked for! The typical thing is that M begs me to tell him something I want and I say.. uhh.. some books?

So, as a direct result of this sudden materialistic urge, I have declined an offer to go shopping with my parents tomorrow. Because really, do I need a venue to spend money at this point? Much safer if I just stay home...

In other news, no more work until next year! And I shall start the year with a disturbingly clean desk, as the headache that has been hanging around all week reached a certain point where I realized that if I looked at one more line of Cobol I would scream and then my head really would fall off, so I cleaned up my cubicle instead. Did you know I had a desk under there? Had no idea. And.. well, that's pretty much all I got for exciting news.
