really boring stuff.
May. 6th, 2006 10:44 pmOne more day of birthday weekend! So far it's been very nice. Today was all about the shopping, and we began the day by having a new stereo put in my car. We had a CD player but it could only play real, purchased CDs. No burnt ones. This proved to be a problem for me because I am now so sick of all of our CDs that I can't stand to listen to them. I don't even enjoy my Counting Crows CDs anymore and you know that's bad. I could listen to the radio except that it has been proven that attempting to listen to the radio in Frankfort will give you lesions. The levels of suck that is the radio here makes even Morehead radio brighten in comparison and I used to think it was the lowest of the possible low. Anyway. Now I can play homemade CDs, and better yet, MP3 CDs. So, I am a happy camper!
The other really important news is that we killed Baal tonight, thus completing our DiabloII (expansion) game. I almost regret being done because it's been a lot of fun. Having said that, it has still taken up too much time, and we have been putting off a lot of other things until we finish that, so I guess now it's time to get back on the wagon and peel wallpaper and rip up vines and fertilize plants. We have an iris blooming! Unfortunately, we have about thirty plants over there and only three of them are going to bloom, it looks like.
Today's silly: playing a game whereby we tried to work as many quotes from Ocean's Eleven as possible. "There may be a problem with availability" became the day's winner, being used for many, many different reasons. Actually, we kind of forgot to continue with it so maybe we'll have to finish it tomorrow, but M was in the lead, drat him.
Oh, speaking of silly.. I think we're going to have to change our answering machine message, because people keep calling and hanging up. I think my mom has been telling people to call and listen to it. M says that if they won't leave a message, they don't want to talk to us that bad anyway. There's always, at the very least, an endearing pause as they obviously try to figure out what to say. What? What is wrong with this message, lovingly recorded by M? "Blah blah blah, can't answer right now, blah blah blah, answering machine, blah blah blah, BEEP." Perfectly sensible!
Sure, go ahead--call tomorrow and hang up, we won't be home. *sigh*
