I don't think I've mentioned The Hair. Maybe I told you that I got a haircut. What I haven't mentioned? Last Thursday, my hair started curling. I washed my hair as usual, and fixed it almost per usual, and it was suddenly so curly that I have been asked ten thousand times if I got a perm. Seriously, the only thing I did was not brush it. I tend to brush it periodically while drying it because it helps with frizz and with ease of drying. I flipped my head over, hoping to add a little more volume, and boy, did it ever. It's not completely out of the blue because it's been somewhat wavy, when left to its own devices, and it's started to do this when it was longer, to a lesser degree, but it never worked after the drying was done. Also, the cut is layered, and all the layers end in different places, causing it to look curlier than it is. But.. if I do say so myself, it looks pretty darned good. Everyone has commented on it favorably. I think every single female at work who has seen it has mentioned it, and my entire family. M, of course, giggled and said, "1984!" But he is a nasty little bitch who now goes out of his way to compliment said hairdo because otherwise he will have to sleep in the basement again.
Hi! I'm not scary at all, really!
Also, my car has been in the shop this weekend, and today, I was without a vehicle. This made me sad. I have the car back now, and it was not fixed. It's been making a rattling noise, so we thought we should get it in on my day off. But, when we called him yesterday, he said that he didn't know what the noise was, and so he needed to look at it longer. M was perfectly okay with this because he knows that he gets to drive his vehicle as normal as long as he can get me to work on time. ;) And it's not M's fault but I think that I did not feel that an appropriate amount of sympathy was displayed. I had to be without a car because he couldn't be. That's the trouble with being the one to work in town--I can just ask someone to give me a ride home! No problem! Which, I guess it wasn't a problem but still. I really hate asking people for favors, even though I work with phenomenally nice people. (Thank you,

Anyway, the point of this story is that we went tonight to pick up the car. It was after hours--at least there was no charge, since he couldn't fix the thing. We had asked him to put the keys in the car and lock it up, which he did. The front panel of the stereo, however, was missing. You know, that thing that you take off to prevent theft? IT IS GONE. We hadn't thought to remove it--nice idea, but stereo theft isn't THAT prevalent around here. We searched through the glove compartment, under the seats, under the blanket in the back seat. Nothing. SOMEONE STOLE OUR THEFT PREVENTION DEVICE. (Okay. It is much more likely that Mr. CarMan took it off to prevent theft, or hid it somewhere inexplicable, but it's a little ironic in any case.) It was a quiet ride home--I reached for the dial a dozen times to turn the thing on.
