I don't know where I got this song (a duet of Merle Haggard & Jewel singing "That's the way love goes") from--or, technically, I do, but I don't know where the song itself comes from--but it's hopelessly pretty. It's been on several of my CDs over the last few years. They both have a Voice, and for once, Jewel isn't screwing around with hers. Anyway, M will always laugh when I play it and when he sings "Losing makes me sorry", because.. hello. Yes. It's like the ultimate understatement. I love it. And if you ever were to find that song, you should totally listen to it because it's really good.

Boyo and I went out for dinner tonight, because it is Friday and on Fridays, I barely have the will to live in the evenings, much less the will to cook. We go out probably four out of five Fridays. Anyway, due to.. dumb reasons, really, but anyway, we decided that we would go to the steak place tonight, if the wait wasn't too long. But it was, of course. So, after standing there for ten minutes or so, we left and drove across town to a Mexican place that we've never been to.

(Note about Mexican food. I adore it. Sadly, it is somewhat a casualty of my insulin-resistance, because it's sometimes one of the things I can't stomach the thought of eating. (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.) And. I fear that I am opening myself up for attack here with my work friends, but... I really don't care for the place they like to go. It's okay, I guess, but I would rather leave it than take it, to tell the truth.)

Anyway! The place across town! It was fantastic. It had a waitress that was so cute I wanted to take her home with us, and she was so good at her job that we tipped her at least twice as much as we usually do. The food was great--one very significant part of it (the chimichanga!) was actually better than my Morehead place. The atmosphere was great. And best yet, it's across town... which means that we're not going to go there very often. No reason to increase our chips and deep-fried goodness and cheese consumption, you know.

And, none of you care because it's not like you're going to go there. But we were happy. (Of course, no matter how nice our evening was, I would much rather have spent it driving to Cincinnati to pick up [livejournal.com profile] courtesy. Such a bummer.)

My husband is Googling AK-47s. Because he has Plans for building one. Working in a gun place? Not good for him.
