boyo said to post so i post.
Jul. 21st, 2006 10:53 pmM says I need to post something because we don't have internet. Well, okay, that doesn't really make sense but he's a boy so what can you expect? We had a nice little storm earlier, and now our modem is blinking red and denying our request to read blogs in a civilized fashion. (No, I really do not consider dialup civilized.. but I'm glad that the laptop has a dialup modem in it, because we're an all-broadband household other than this.)
We're hoping to get a bunch of work done tomorrow. I'm wondering what will come up to prevent us from doing so. But we're kind of making good progress on the &@*%$ bedroom walls, round sixteen million. Current process is a round of sanding with a random orbital sander (M loooves it when I talk tool to him). We've got two coats of primer up, so if you squint, the room kind of looks nice. Hey, it's a bedroom, right? It'll be dark most of the time anyway! Let's just call it done!
(We have company coming next weekend and the weekend after that. I REALLY want to be done ASAP so I don't have to show them our bed in the dining room. That's.. kinda lame, honestly.)
The biggest news of the day is that I finished reading M's book. Again. This time it was basically like reading, not editing, so it was nice to read, except for the whole being-on-the-computer thing. Other rounds of editing were in printed form, but I wanted to be able to fix any stray punctuation or whatever as I went--those changes are very easy to miss. And, I had it on two separate to-do lists, so it was like a buy-one-get-one-free thing! But of course, best of all, the boy is very happy. I do like to keep him happy now and then.. you know, can't let him get too comfortable. Or something like that.
