I just turned in my Mosaic Minds article on time! Technically it's late (we do a 1st, 15th, 30th schedule) but the article deadline was delayed for the holidays, so it still counts. I am always late, very late, which is a bad, bad thing. I really should write a few extra articles for stockpiling purposes, but I'm way too lazy. Also, I am completely out of techy things to babble about. I am a bad geek. Ideas, suggestions, or article submissions are more than welcome! Especially that last one. ;)
In a few minutes, I'll be off to pick up M at work (25 minute drive) and then go up to eat dinner with my mommy, for it is her birthday, and since it's theoretically possible this year, I figure that it would be a nice thing to do. Plus, I'll get to eat stromboli sandwich again--my one pregnancy craving. The super-strong craving has passed, but it still sounds fantastic all the time. Thankfully, I've stopped thinking about it every single day in relation to what I really want for dinner, so that's a start. It's pretty nice that they're accommodating, though, because we've been up three times in the last month (counting today) to eat there, so they never get to go anywhere else when we come up anymore. ;) I don't really expect us to be back until late enough that I'm likely to fall asleep in the car, so I wanted to make a point of posting before I left.
M started working on the guest bedroom walls last night, and I think that it's going to be much easier than we feared at first, because it seems like it will work well. (Filling the paneling cracks with drywall.) He did one wall in about fifteen minutes, though it'll need a second coat plus sanding. We also need to carry everything out from the closet so we don't end up with the same sort of dusty shoes problem as last time. ;) Clearly, we know how good I am at cleaning up dusty drywall messes, after all. Did I mention that we have changed our plans? We're putting the nursery into the computer room, and moving the computers into the current guest room. The benefits of this plan include that the computer room will have a bathroom. Our desks are on wheels, so we hope that we'll be able to still use it as a guest room upon demand, merely shoving the desks out of the way to make way for an air mattress. Which, I know that isn't ideal, but at least there's a bathroom? I don't know. I am really worrying about the lack of a guest room, which is silly because other than Blatt (M's friend from Sweden) we have only had overnight visitors on two occasions--both of them related to us moving to this house. Having said that.. I am pretty sure that we'll have guests more often if there is a baby to hold. Still, I'm thinking that there's nothing much else to do about it unless they wanna sleep in the dining room. ;)
It's getting close to time for me to leave, so I guess I should go get my things together and get out of here. I so helpfully put my sheets in the washer this morning (I ended up late for work because I could not stop doing things I shouldn't be doing in the morning today) so that when I got home, I could throw them in the dryer. We always have to preemptively dry our sheets twice because the mattress pad bundles up and refuses to dry completely half the time. And, that WAS a great plan until later in the day when we decided to be gone all evening long. I hope they have time to dry before it's time to go to bed or I will be very grumpy tomorrow. ;)
