Random--now with pictures!
Jan. 30th, 2007 10:18 pmMy mom called tonight to tell me that we had mail from Time Warner at our previous address that had ended up at their house. I told her to go ahead and open it, and much to my surprise... it was a refund check for $64.19. This was a bit of a surprise because I've never had an account with Time Warner. ;) Apparently, they bought Adelphia since we moved from there, though, so my surprise on that note was short-lived. You may remember some of our experiences with them if you’ve been reading for a few years--they’re the ones who kept scheduling appointments for service, as the internet would die for minutes or hours or days at a time, and then they wouldn’t show up. Once they stood us up twice in one day, which is really kind of impressive. I wanted to link to the recent example, where they sent a bill for $300 or so for failing to return our cable modem and box when we cancelled our service ALMOST THREE YEARS AGO, when in fact, the reason that we still had the junk was because they failed to come out and pick it up like they were scheduled to. TWICE. But, I can’t find that entry though I’m sure I wrote about it. M finally returned the stupid things to one of their offices. This $64? I have no clue what it’s for but I’m not about to turn it down. I will probably live to regret this, when in four years I receive a notice on my credit report about how i failed to return my refund check. That would be just about as absurd as anything else they’ve done, so why not?
I just finished watching Veronica Mars, and excuse me, but what the hell? I thought it was a really good episode, though, and contained perhaps the best scene ever on television. I won’t say anything else because of spoilage, and because most of you don’t watch said show, and because who cares, right? But it was good, and now I have to go to bed. I wish it came on at eight instead of nine because I must go to bed as soon as it’s over. Luckily, most of this post was pre-written before the show. That’s me, always thinking ahead.
One more thing, though--a picture! This was taken this morning especially for
courtesy, who requested it last week, and it's about as close as you're gonna get to a belly shot. I'm officially 23 weeks and 3 days today, which is about the sixth month... if you're not up on the week lingo. I woke up feeling huge this morning, rather like a beached whale*, and so it suited my rather dark humor to wear the one and only shirt that makes it IMMEDIATELY OBVIOUS that I am quite pregnant. I was cuter last week when I wore it because I had on my hip maternity jeans--it's probably a pretty sad commentary on my normal attire that I am getting lots of compliments on my maternity clothes, even when people don't realize they're maternity. M told me to stand in the kitchen in front of the stove. I theorized that he just wanted to take a picture of his bitch in her proper place, though he was mumbling something about light.

*Interestingly, I have noticed on several occasions that the baby tends to go very quiet just before my belly pops out in a new and interesting way. She was so still yesterday that I couldn’t help but worry a bit, but she had been super-busy over the weekend, so I figured that she was just tired. Imagine my surprise this morning when I realized that I was a lot bigger than I was yesterday! It’s weird how that works.
