weekend wrap-up.
Jul. 22nd, 2007 08:07 pmI finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night. It's very, very good. I have been guilty of making up a few spoilers here and there to tell M, but I haven't given in to the temptation to actually tell him anything important. He's rereading book six at the moment in preparation. I did have a thought on something to talk to him about that I didn't think would give anything away, until I realized that it would only give away the ending, so I umm, kept that one to mysellf, too. I was a little disappointed that I was done reading because I wasn't really ready to be done. So, I might have picked it up again and started reading. I am such a total dork. Don't tell anyone, that's dorky.
The Yayer clan is having a big of an "off" weekend. M has not been in tip-top shape, for obvious reasons, and I have been reading as constantly as possible. This all followed a night with messed-up sleep. Evelyn was pretty sad yesterday. She wasn't a bad baby, but she sure wasn't terribly happy. She's not in the best mood ever today, but she's feeling much better than yesterday. Regardless of our blehness, or maybe because of it, we took off yesterday afternoon for a little jaunt through the game farm / wildlife park. She rode in her (freebie) stroller for the first time. She didn't seem to mind it, but M and I fretted muchly about how much sun was on her face. The cover seemed kind of worthless. We didn't stay long. The park was full of really obnoxious people, and the sun was oppressive. I guess that's to be expected when you go somewhere like that on a Saturday in July.
Other than that, M has been working on fixing the dresser for the baby's room. The drawers didn't slide anymore and would fall out when you used them. I have been nagging him about these drawers since about March, and before that, I had been talking about it since January of last year, when my parents brought the dresser down to us. It's finally in progress, though, and I have hopes of it being full of clothes pretty soon. As a matter of fact, I think I might have just seen the boy carry a large heavy piece of furniture into her room, but he hasn't yet told me that it's finished. He said earlier that it was "close". Should I go check or should I pretend that I didn't hear the thumping? Hmmm. I should probably pretend.
We also went shopping yesterday, and I found really, really cute flannel on the $1 table. This made me super-happy because I'm making more wipes now, and while I didn't actually need more fabric.. well, don't you always need more fabric? Especially super-cute fabric for $1? Yes, I thought so.
I can't stand it anymore. Must go look in on M and the probably finished dresser. Besides that, the baby is laying in her crib cooing at the mobile and it sounds adorable through the monitor. And in an hour, the season finale of the food network star show. We have sort of gotten into that one in the last few weeks. I even went and voted (for Amy) twice! That is a level of unprecedented involvement in a television show for me. I am not so much into getting involved with stuff like that.
