My baby likes talking to the swirls on the Snoopy bassinet that my mom bought her at a yard sale. I mean, she really likes talking to them. I have no idea why. She has been wooling me to death since lunch, with just a few little breaks. Once, I put her down so she could talk to the fishie in her crib and I could fold her laundry, and M watched her twice this evening. She's still a bit needy, for whatever reason. I don't think she feels very good. Maybe it's the weather (we have a cold front in)--I have had a headache for three days that I think is weather-related, or maybe she's growing. M says that he remembers growing as being painful, when he was a kid. I don't remember ever feeling a growth spurt. He says he remembers being achey with them sometimes. Of course, that could be because I am 5'4" and he is 6'4". I just really didn't do that much growing. ;) Evelyn is close to as tall as I am already! Well, no. But she is wearing 6-9 month clothes at two months because she is so, so long. I know that sizing in baby clothes is messed up but geez, louise, it feels weird to put something that says nine months on my newborn. Although I suppose I have to stop calling her my newborn at some point. I can't believe she's been here this long! At the same time, I really don't remember what life was like without her.

I am in the midst of a photo snafu with Walmart. I placed an order for regular prints and a package consisting of an 8x10, two 5x7s and 16 wallets. I saved a bit of money by having them printed and then mailed to the store. When I went to pick them up on Thursday (a week after placing the order) they gave me the prints but not the package. I checked back on Friday, and Saturday. (Sad, really, that I was at WalMart so many times this weekend, huh? That's not even counting the HP run.) I called this afternoon to give the photodude my order number, and he talked with Fuji and they're going to resend the entire order, free of charge. So, that's good that we're going to get about sixty prints for free! What's bad is that we've been waiting for those stupid pictures for almost two weeks now, and we needed them for hanging up. What's weird is that Fuji is unable to just send the missing package without sending the entire order. They're not doing it to be nice, or to make up for their mistake. They're doing it because apparently, their system is so bad that they can't reproduce partial orders. Photodude also confided that the first day he called him, their IT person told him that they had no way of knowing what a "standard package" was supposed to be, even though they could see that I paid for it. I guess they figured that if they don't know what it is, they don't have to send it?? As far as the prints go, though, they look incredible. Much better than the one hour printing Walmart does.. which is really pretty good. I was really looking forward to doing the package thing for pictures of Evelyn, though--I am married to a former professional photographer, so why would I want to pay out the nose to take her in for studio shots?--and now I am lacking a bit in confidence.

M is playing mandolin for his baby. So sweet. Except that it made her cry after a few minutes. That makes it a little less sweet, doesn't it?

Oh, and do you think that it's a bad sign that she laughs at me when I tell her "no"? I am afraid we're in for a rough ride. ;)
