nonsense, mainly
Jul. 11th, 2008 01:18 pmLast week, I started having back pain.. not much, just enough to annoy me. It was the same sort of pain I had while I was pregnant--not a muscle ache, but like a nerve is pinched between the base of my spine and... something else to the right there. Then, it hurt me for months, and then suddenly got much better overnight (right when my rib broke... pregnancy is fun!), and while it still pained me some, it was bearable again. It continued, and then seemed to be mostly better on Tuesday, so I went shopping with the munchkin and that was a BAD IDEA, for that evening, it was terrible. Wednesday was the worst and yesterday and today it's still pretty bad. I carried on with my plans and drove to the horse park (forty minutes from here) to camp with my parents both days, but I have been pretty miserable. Walking = bad. I wasn't sure yesterday morning if I could handle another day of camping but then I decided that I just couldn't handle a day of running after Evelyn alone. At least while camping there are others to grab her away from sharp objects. ;) It is so similar to the backache I had during pregnancy that I took a pregnancy test. It was negative, of course, but I wanted to get that out of the way before someone asked. ;)
So anyway, today is the day that M's sister (Kina, which is short for Kristina and I add this only because I was asked about her oddball name by another Swede-connected person once before. For the non-Swedish persons out there, Kina is also the word for China in Swedish. It's unrelated.) Her flight will arrive late this afternoon. We're looking forward to seeing her, although I am worried about my back getting in the way of our fun. Stupid back!
I have been gone all week camping + my back makes walking, bending, stooping, twisting, tugging, pulling, stretching, lifting and carrying very painful = house not cleaned according to K's Standards for Company.
House not Cleaned According to K's Standards for Company = Stress = Cleaning Anyway = Being Forbidden By Husband to Vacuum or Swiffer today.
(I hadn't even told him I was planning on breaking out the Swiffer, which made me laugh because does he know me or what?)
He is allowing me to scrub the toilets. He is so kind to me. I am a lucky girl! ;)
So anyway, E (who slept until seven this morning, which was a total of thirteen hours minus a little crying time when we got home) went back to bed and I have been working like crazy, but my back is finally protesting that it has had enough so I am sitting down to rest a little before she wakes up. M has done a lot of work this week since I have been unable to, but he has limited time so it has been difficult. I think I have actually gotten things going pretty well. Everything is either as clean as it's going to get or I have a plan for the rest. (Can't very well hang baby laundry while baby is napping! But she likes to play in her room while I hang up her clothes so it's all good... that sort of thing.) It really doesn't look bad, and I know she is not coming to judge my bathroom floors, but I am a little crazy. Haven't you noticed this before?
I forgot what day of the week it was and kept refreshing my friends page, wondering where everyone was. Then I remembered that it was Friday. Why does no one post on Friday? It doesn't make sense. Those of you who post from work... isn't Friday a little more relaxed than other days? Isn't that when you would want to kill a little time? I never blogged from work but if I had, it would have been on Fridays.
Break's up! Time to fold laundry.
