Jun. 15th, 2011 03:24 pmMy Lowe's is SO BAD at internet orders. I had to call them four times at least over my new washer, and finally we went to pick it up ourselves at 5:00. (They were supposed to be there Monday morning.) I am pretty sure that if I hadn't called, it would STILL be at the store. They kept telling me that they didn't see the order on their system, and so it didn't make it onto the truck that morning, but they'd come back for it. Then it was "Oh,yes, this afternon." I called one last time, at 4:30, and the guy was just then at the store, with two or three runs to make before us, one of which was way out in the boonies. My dad had this fantastic plan for the week, where my mom came down to visit us on Monday, and he came on Monday evening, and then they left a car here for Evie and I to come up in on Friday, and then M would come after work on Friday, so when we came home, we'd all be in one car. He happened to be arriving in town at around five, so I snapped and said we'd just come pick it up. Naturally, when I arrived, they said.... oh, we don't see that in the system. I stood there for half an hour before I got that washer loaded up, including the little dork who finally "found" something and then said that the washer was on the truck and they didn't have another in stock so, sorry about your luck. I DON'T THINK SO. I got back into the whole thing with him AGAIN and he decided it would be in his best interests to walk back there and check the back, and what do you know? MY WASHER. So, that was positive.
Also, my dad had a $25 off of $250 coupon with him, so I applied it to my order and they gave me $25 back in cash. That was pretty cool. :) Plus 9% cashback from shopathome, which is like ebates in that you click through the site and then get a percentage of cash back on your total purchase, except in many cases, the cashback amount is higher. 5% at Lowe's at ebates, 9% at shopathome. We had a long day yesterday. Evelyn had a nightmare that woke us all up at 4:30. She laid in bed, first with M and then with me, for an hour and a half, but even though she tried, she couldn't go back to sleep because the dream was stuck in her head*. So, we were up at 4:30. Then, I had a doctor appointment in the next town over--the office in my town is consistently overbooked, apparently, so it was more expedient to just drive over again to get my lab results. It was just an appointment for lab results. I figured it would be pretty quick and painless, so I told M at the last minute that he might as well just go on to work and I'd take E with me. Appointment at 8:50, and I didn't even get called back to a room until 10:00, and had to wait in there half an hour for the doctor. With a tired, bored four-year-old. FUN. Originally, I'd planned to head to the city and do some shopping at the mall and a few places, but decided that it would just be asking for trouble, so I just went to Kohl's and Walmart on my way home. We were home by 1:30 or so, and E definitely had seen the error of her ways on the getting up early thing. Poor thing was exhausted. I could have gotten her to take a nap with absolutely no trouble, but I figured that I had better not.
Anyway, some good news is that my thyroid is still fine. I had forgotten to worry about that, though I knew that she was going to test that too, so that wasn't a big shock or anything, though it's still a nice thing to know. No big surprises, really, including the prescription for metformin. If you remember the pre-Evie days, that's the medicine that make me ill. I'm trying it again with hopes that it clears some stuff up for me, and then I guess I'll be able to determine if the nasty side effects are worth the results. I am feeling pretty crummy today from it.. it'll be a fun few weeks while I get used to it again. I have also been using yesterday as a "deadline" for when I have to start paying attention to food choices and exercise again.
So sleepy I can barely stand myself. Too bad it's only 3:24. :(
