It has been a nice weekend, but very short, which makes me sad. I have felt periodically crappy, but it is not yet strong enough to affect me all that much, which is nice. Now if it would just stay that way or better for a while.. maybe?

I tricked my husband into rearranging the computer room and de-cluttering the bookcase this afternoon. That was fun. I have been kind of thinking about moving stuff around, but we had never gotten around to it. I tricked him by asking him to help me move my desk into the corner--just a few feet. But, we had to totally rethink the cable situation to do that, since the router and modem are on my desk, and they wouldn't reach anymore. And then after we did that, I pointed out that it would look a lot better if we just moved the bookcase over a little.. hint hint. But to do that, everything in it had to come out, and well, wouldn't it be stupid to put all the hidden stacks of stuff back in such a disorganized manner? He was a little less than enthusiastic about the whole thing, but he let me use his strong back for a while without much complaint.

I do love that boy.

I've also made good progress today on M's dad's homepage. That's one of those things that have been on my project list for ages. For three years, actually.. we took pictures for it when we were in Sweden. It's been the content that has been missing.. we still don't have enough, but there's finally enough to get going on it, and maybe after it's done, he will have a better idea of what he wants to say. Hopefully, I can get that done shortly, although I have less than a week to get the next issue of Mosaic Minds done, too. Of course, that's assuming that there is actually content to go live with... anyway, going to let someone else (ahem, [livejournal.com profile] carrieb) worry about that first. ;)

Speaking of absolutely nothing, I occasionally get Food Items in my head and will happily eat that food every day for a week. Right now I have this fixation with this salad--just baby spinach, red onion, parmesan cheese, croutons and peppercorn ranch dressing. It takes three seconds to put together, and it tastes SO GOOD. Tonight, I was reading the spinach bag. Do you even know how good spinach is for you?! I don't think I have ever in my life had one of those obsessions with something that's actually good for me. If I ate the entire bag of spinach, it would set me back 40 calories. *boggle* And give me 80% of my daily folic acid needs, and also, lots of vitamins and antioxidants and stuff.

Also, I ate an apple for my after-dinner snack. And I had yogurt for breakfast! (I actually don't like yogurt. Not going to be buying any more of that, even if I do feel healthy when I eat it.) And now I'm drinking green tea! What's the world coming to?! Although, to be fair, I was planning on sneaking some chips in tonight, but I forgot until just now, and it's too close to bedtime to be snacking now. Too close, as in, five minutes ago. Still!

well done for the husband-trickery. i need to work on my subtlty when trying to get bruno to do something for me. *l*

also, green tea is great. it's hard to find any other kind here so i've been drinking it - it's so refreshing! and no need for that unhealthy milk-and-sugar.

i agree with you on the spinach thing. i used to think it was gross but started eating it last year and got hooked. good for the iron-deprived among us. :)

M and I just ended up in the tea aisle Saturday night and started having this discussion about how green tea is so good for you. I considered taking it up a while back because it's supposed to be good for insulin resistance, which.. well, I don't actually have but would probably help me anyway (it's only a matter of time, I figure.) Neither of us had ever tried it, though, and rather assumed that it would be nasty because it's so good for you and the shelves were packed full of masking-the-flavor-of-the tea teas. But.. it's good! It really is!

I think I'm a little iron-deprived as well. I guess that's another reason to keep up with the spinach. :)

If this was last year at this time I would just have a nervous breakdown. As it is, I just can't quite work up the enthusiasm required to care. I have sent out a few e-mails and have promises of things. One person in particular has told me several times I don't need to worry in such a way that I think I REALLY need to worry.

That made me laugh out loud, the part about not needing to worry. I think we're going to have to.. I don't know. Inspire some enthusiasm before the next issue comes around. Or something. I hope the next theme goes over better than this one, at least.

I developed a spinach salad obsession sometime last year, and it still hasn't gone away! I do basically the same thing you're doing. Cheese, spinach, ranch or caesar, croutons, pepper. Sometimes I put a few of those french fried onion things on top, because I like crunchy stuff in my salad. :) Darnit, now I have to go to the store and buy spinach, I ran out over the weekend!! I knew it was healthy, but I didn't realize it had so much folic acid in it. Yay!

Maybe you're pregnant? Pregnant people eat strang things, and eating this healthy is definitely strange! *tease*

Seems unlikely. ;) I'm not sure where this healthy eating thing came from all of a sudden yesterday but I rather hope it sticks around for a while!
