I am fairly certain that I had something of interest to write about tonight, but I can't remember what that would be. Actually, I have done basically nothing else but read since I got home. I am pathetic, and deeply embarrassed, but not so reserved that I don't mind telling the internets about it. I just finished The Goblet of Fire, book 4, and all I gotta say is that a) I did not see that one particular thing coming and b) I did not approve. But other than that it was pretty good. I'm sure that you were all waiting with eagerness and joy to hear my deliberately vague, one-sentence review of a book published several years ago.

Tomorrow, it is Saturday, and the girl will be very lonely, as the boy has to work twelve (!!!) hours. (I did see that one coming, but I still don't approve.) I'm thinking of not reading all day long tomorrow, we'll see how that goes. It will be nice to have a day at home, at least. Next week is going to be busy busy.

I am so up past my bedtime. Better go take care of that.

Err.. yes. I was exactly the same. I didn't really think it was worth bothering with, but I finally got fed up with all the secrecy and spoilers-behind-a-cut and all that with this last book, so that's why I gave in. (Also, I had read most of the first book in an illicit format and didn't enjoy it all that much.. paper version, MUCH BETTER.) I was afraid that it would be annoying given the fact that it's about a pre-teen (at first) boy, but was surprised to find that it wasn't. It's not as complex as RJ's world, but it's thoroughly entertaining. [livejournal.com profile] geeklibrarian is right.. Rowling has the whole writing thing down. Actually, I think that RJ has moments of brilliance in his writing amidst technically good but unspectactular prose, but Rowling's books are consistently well-written and engaging. I am nearly ashamed of how into it I am, particularly after how long I resisted the fad. But yes, worth reading.
