I have been really productive tonight, and that has left me with no time to post. I cleaned the house, for one thing, and then M and I went out to eat because I couldn't bear the thought of cooking after my hours of labor. It is also my mother-in-law's birthday, and M talked to her briefly on the phone this afternoon and mentioned all the springness that's going on here, so I spent the evening sorting and resizing and uploading pictures, and then sending a birthday email off with the link. I'm trying to be better about uploading pictures for them, in general, and what better excuse do I have to send pictures to a Swede than one where I show off the weather?

Spring! With some shots of the work that we're doing, although keep in mind that have a whole lot left to go.

Now I have to go to bed because the boy is nagging, and I'm exhausted myself. A huge thunderstorm woke us at four this morning, and neither of us was able to really sleep much afterwards. When we finally had made it back to sleep, my cell phone went off in the other room. Let me just say that if you're going to call someone at six in the freaking morning, please be damned sure that you've got the right number. Ergh! Stupid people!

Oooooh...your pictures are great! The area around your house is so pretty! (Meaning, both your own yard and your neighborhood look very inviting.)

That tree with the pink/white blooms and the purpley leaves...we had one of those at the house we lived in when I was a kid. I believe it's a flowering crabapple tree. Very lovely. :)

Oooh, thank you! Google says that it does look rather like a crabapple tree! We are slowly trying to identify these miscellaneous plants. My mom is coming down today and I'm hoping she'll be able to name a few more. I was really curious about the tree, though. I didn't even realize it WAS a tree, at first! And thanks for the compliment on the surrounding area. We love how quiet and undeveloped-ish it is out this way.

Good luck with your yardwork today.. I can sympathize now!

Hmmm...I just got back from the nursery, and I saw a plant that looked a lot like your mystery tree. It may be a floweing PLUM. Either way, I think you've got a lovely flowering tree with pretty purple leaves (adds visual interest!) and pretty pinky whitey flowers. YAY!

I agree with the plum theory.

Well, thank you again because you ARE right this time, I think. Google showed me a picture that could have been of our actual tree. I suppose it doesn't actually matter what it is because it sure is pretty anyway!

I always thought that if Heaven had a scent of it's own, it would smell like plum and apple tree blooms in the spring. We had several close together and they bloomed about the same time of year, and the plum blossom particularly smelled heavenly. You're making me want to be at the farm right now!

Sorry! :) I don't believe we have any apple trees, but the plum (if indeed that's what it is.. it sure does look like it so I think you're right) one smelled fantastic.

Happy Easter! :)

I think plum tree blossoms and honesuckle are my two favorite smells.
