This is how it works:

Comment on this entry and get a letter (if you're up to playing).

Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why.

[livejournal.com profile] geeklibrarian gave me "G":

(G is a hard letter!)

Great: Magnus is very fond of the fact that his name translates to Great. Actually, what he is so intensely fond of is that his full name translates to The Great Vulture. I really don't want to talk about it.

Games: as in, the Diablo II, which the boy and I are playing again. Sometimes we like network games, all his friends are jealous. Boys secretly like geek girls, really!

Grapes: I love grapes and hardly ever eat them. I remember being very little and being told not to eat too many or I would get a bellyache. Cut scene to little K lying in grandparent's bed with a horrible bellyache.

Green: Like spring, which has become my favorite season this year.

Go: I would like to. Go. Somewhere. This weekend. With the boy. On vacation.

Gazebo: My grandparents have a huge gazebo that I used to like to play on. I would like to have one some day in an abstract sort of way but I would never use it.

Gray: You know gray is my favorite color--I felt so symbolic yesterday. If I knew Picasso, I would buy myself a gray guitar and play... which is a few lines from Mr. Jones by Counting Crows. BTW, people think that's a very happy, upbeat song and to tell you the truth, it might be the most depressing song they've done, and that's saying a lot.

Goat trading: Who the hell trades goats? Cute thing from M's first visit here.

Gall: Apparently the little green bumps all over the leaves of our maples are caused by gall-making mites. It looks disgusting but is apparently harmless.

Google: I was just saying that I google strange things lately. See gall.

I'm glad it was worth it, then, because I sat here for AGES trying to figure out words that started with G. I decided that names would be cheating so most of M's suggestions fell flat. ;)

Somehow I can't read that without hearing "They're ggggreat!" as in Tony the Tiger. Maybe it's just cause I had Frosted Flakes for breakfast...

You've tempted me to give you "u" instead. Couldn't be easy with that one!

Okay, I give you "L".
