Sunday night
Jul. 7th, 2002 11:59 pmToday has been somewhat.. cranky. We slept late, though, so that was good. Well, sorta. I think we needed to catch up on some sleep, but we were a bit late getting to Papaw's and had to warm up our lunch, so that could have been better!
Yesterday Magnus went to work, and I had stuff to do. I did the banking, for instance, and the laundry, and the bills, and other such stuff. I also spent a while working on graphics.. I think that's what I'll be doing tomorrow, too. :) Anyway, nothing else extraordinary happened. I went to the parents and stayed a while. Mom had been to yard sales and bought me two baby bibs. :) Magnus looked a little disturbed when he saw them. This is the third baby gift in the last couple of months, after all. I think Mom is where we are, though--looking forward to babies but not necessarily ready. (Well, she's probably a little more ready than we are, but still, I think she doesn't like the thought of me actually having to do the whole pregnancy and labor thing.) It's cute. :) Anyway, one of the bibs said "Grandpa loves me", which we thought was extra sweet. That one was officially from Dad. Of course, since she bought these at yard sales, the entire town is going to 'know' that we're expecting now. :)
Anyway. Tonight we went out to WalMart to buy curtains for the computer room. There's this window just behind my monitor, and in the late aftternoon/evening, I can barely sit here because of the glare.. and that's with the miniblinds! It's troublesome, though, because of the strange size, and the fact that there's a counter under half of it. The ones we got were too long, and turns out that I can't hem them because of the edge at the bottom. That was the plan. So now it hangs funny. I haven't decided yet whether or not we should take them back or just live with the strangeness in the interest of keeping the light out. There's no hope for making this room look really nice, in any event. Dark paneling, shower curtains, sheets and drapes, 70s carpet with an area rug over it.. There's a multitude of things wrong with the decor. :) Better than it was before, though.
Sometimes I wish the computers were still in the smaller room. We were cramped but cozy. :)
Anyway. I suppose that it's time for us to get some sleep, so enough rambling for now. I should try to do better about writing every night, shouldn't I?
