So I spent hours last weekend making LJ behave enough that I could use, and modify, a style from the The Style Contest because I was so sick of seeing all the available LJ styles. It didn't want to work, but then I succeeded! I have complained bitterly in the past about how awful and complex LJ's style system is, so it felt like a major victory. And what do they do? They add a bunch of new styles, less than a week later. Figures.

And, I had more to say but then my parents called and while we were talking, I doodled something that turned out to be inappropriate and creepy, and it disturbed Boyo enough that he wanted to scan and post about it but I won't let him. Now I'm telling you only to taunt you that there is k-WEIRDNESS that I am not willing to share and given the long list of weird things about me that I've shared.. well. It's bound to be odd, ya know? But since we talked for nearly an hour, I no longer have time to write this silly post and I'm already up past my bedtime now. Bah. I don't particularly care for the way time works sometimes. Hmph.

I have developed a particular fetish for drawing animals trapped or hiding under rugs. Please tell us about yours...

Those new styles are from vox - but I don't go to vox any more as there is no-one to play with....

Can I maybe just tell you that it involved four swirly finger-like appendages with bubble faces and Medusa hair, all of them linked together into one body and sporting an appendage of an entirely different sort? Would that suffice as an explanation? *giggle*

But now I think I will draw things hiding under rugs because that is really cute.

LJ is about the most user-UNfriendly website I've ever used. Wait. That's not true. My college alumni directory page is even worse, but that can sort of be excused I guess since clearly a college student made it. But shouldn't a hot shot college student be better?

I can't believe you won't share your weirdness with us.

I relented and described my weirdness above to courtesy. I think it might be a little too anatomically correct to post it though. *grin*

Hey, I just switched my style to one of the new ones over the weekend. But I'm glad you figured how to do your own because, while I like the one I picked out, I'm hoping to have a new background or banner that I will make and I haven't had the chance to figure that out. Until you have the image to use, it's hard to know how to input it so I've just steered clear of that.

I'm thinking of switching to a new one, too, because I like it quite a lot.. even if I did put all this work into fixing this one. I haven't played with the new ones at all yet, so I don't know how hard changing them will be. However, I think I read that they should easily be customizable with CSS? Of course, they think that S2 is "easy" so what do they know? I am hosting all of the images for my new style on one of my sites, but it wouldn't let me link to the stylesheet there like it was supposed to, so I put everything in the Custom CSS box. And I read that LJ doesn't really like non-relative URLs in the stylesheets so you might have to write the whole thing out. And that is about all I can say about customizing these things until I actually try it with one like you have. :)

Yeah, I started trying to put the site meter back in there and ran out of patience.

Good luck with that. I didn't get mine back with this style. Actually, I kind of forgot about it. Man, I hate how complicated they make things. Also, I am paying them money and so tell me again why they don't provide me with stats automatically?
