1. If you could spend one year living in one city in the world with your hubby, where would it be and why?
Stockholm. It really is beautiful. Actually, I would really love to do just that, but it's such an impractical thing to consider for just a year, and I don't want to be gone much longer than that. I'd love to have the experience, but we're both too concerned about security to consider such a thing until we're independently wealthy. :)
2. Tell me two really lovely simple memories about your gorgeous brother.
I wish I could tell you about the slugs, but it requires a complicated face and hand gesture, and judging from the reactions of the people who've heard the story who weren't there.. it wouldn't be funny anyway. You really needed to be there. Anyhow. He was always protective of his baby sister, and he would always say that I would never be allowed to date. Furthermore, if I did ever have a boyfriend, he was fully intending to, and I quote, "beat him up and take his money." ;) That phrase became something of a family joke, hence the quote. I also remember how happy he was when his daughter, Whitley, was born. He was somewhat sarcastic and quite witty, and generally not the type you'd normally expect to be so sentimental about a baby, but he was crazy about her.
3. If you could see one person/band in concert who has passed away or not together any more who would it be?
Keith Whitley. (See a resemblence to my niece's name, perhaps?) I really am embarrasingly low on popular culture knowledge.. I had to think for a minute to come up with this answer before realizing that it was completely obvious. (Country singer I mentioned before who I was related to, died of a drug/alcohol overdose.)
4. What is your favourite all time dessert?
Strawberry pie, maybe. Homemade, with sliced strawberries, not whole. Or perhaps french silk pie.
5. Tell me one of your first (nice) memories of getting together with your hubby ;)
Like my shmooey stories, eh? *grin* Okay, I've rambled about the first day at the lake recently, so I've told the story of how we became comfortable with each other. How about when we admitted that we were dating? After a few days of being together on the first visit, we drove to Blue Licks State Park, where [livejournal.com profile] stewlis was working at the pool. We'd passed the "I love you" stage but we were not quite sure what it meant to be in love with someone who was that far away and we weren't really comfortable enough with each other yet to broach the subject of "us". We were sitting on a picnic table (we seem to like sitting on those) when Lis introduced us to someone she knew. It went something like this: "This is Kisha, my friend from college, and this is her.. uh.. [pause] can I call you her boyfriend yet?" *giggle* Darnit, we forgot to celebrate that again... it was June 3rd of 1999, and we officially claimed it as the day we started dating.

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] reebert -
1) Do you live more in reality or fantasy?
Is this question, by chance, inspired by how low I ranked on everyone's compatibility lists? *giggle* I don't know. In some ways, I'm quite realistic. I'm very interested in safety and security, and I'm quite practical in those senses. But I tend to cultivate a bit of a fantasy world for myself as well, and I can be honest enough to admit it. There are certain things that I believe in merely because I wish to do so. I regret to say that my belief that people are mainly good at heart is something I choose to believe.. I'm not so sure that the realist in me would agree. That sort of thing.
2) Has working at a produce market changed the way you eat?
Yes, but not necessarily for the better. *laugh* I actually feel somewhat more carnivorous than I did before.. one gets mightily sick of looking at veggies all day long, and where I might have the best intentions at the beginning of the day of making a gloriously fresh salad, by mid-afternoon, I want nothing more than steak. Bloody. ;) But it's not all bad. We've been eating a LOT of new potatoes, and we've also had a few completely vegetarian meals, which we have not done often before. I eat more fruit than I normally do. I had an apple and a banana for breakfast today. I would never have done that before. (But I still would rather have had my Lucky Charms.)
3) What's your fondest childhood Christmas memory?
I really don't know. One year, when I was about 10 or so, we got to open some of our lesser presents early, and that was tremendously exciting. We lived away at the time (in Augusta, GA) and we didn't have enough trunk space to bring all the clothes and the presents that year, so the parents let us open them early. We had a lot of fun with that.
4) How much time each day do you spend on the computer? Are you okay with that?
A lot. :) Now that I'm working, it's less, of course. I've always been quite computery and so is Magnus, so we spend most of our time in our computer room. If we were different (ie, more social, less nerdy) it might bother me, but I figure that it's time that's better spent than watching television, at least (which we don't do a lot of, really.)
5) If you were being punished in some far-off cruel world and you had to choose one appendage to be cut off, which would you choose and why?
That's so weird! I seriously almost asked [livejournal.com profile] courtesy this! Well, I was going to ask if she'd rather lose an an arm or a leg, but same principle. I don't guess toes count as appendages, do they? I'd rather lose a foot than a hand, I think. I guess it would depend on what the far-off cruel amputator allowed as the minimum!

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] hlu -
1) How did you get your Magnus to move to the US?
Oral sex. No, I'm kidding.. just thought it was time for an off-color joke. I didn't do much of anything.. it was just much more practical for him to come here than me to go there. I was in college, he knew the language, my parents would be more upset than his, he had thought about moving abroad before he even knew me.. that sort of thing.
2) Do you ever want to try Swedish life?
Sure. I just wish it would be more practical for us. He likes his life here, while I would be homesick. I think I'd enjoy it, but I would miss things from home more than he does and I wouldn't want to live there all that long. And besides that, I want to have our kids in the US, which is the opposite of what most people say, I guess, and we don't want to be in a situation where we don't feel like we could move back when we want because of money or jobs or whatever. It would be bad enough with just us, but with another life to consider, it'd be harder to risk it. If that makes sense.. :)
3) What is your Magnus' best quality?
His best quality as a husband is his unwavering belief in me. Perhaps his best quality as a person (to others) is his charisma or his sense of humor.
4) What is your dream job?
I want to work from home doing web design and writing novels.
5) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully living in a house with my husband and baby with aforementioned job.

Okay. Everyone who wanted interviewed get questions, and did I answer them all? Speak now or forever hold your peace! :)

Yeah I felt the same way about moving to Sweden, but had to do it, as Magnus wasn't leaving his cushy job to come to the US and have no job. So I quit work, and college, and moved here around 19/20 years of age... Now Magnus works for GE Medical Systems IT and they are based in Milwaukee, WI, so I am hoping he'll want to transfer someday there. BUT I do want to have kids here, as it's the best place compared to have them compared to the US. hehehehe

Nice answers! Got me thinking!

I gave up my cushy job!
I wonder what would happen if you ever told Magnus you were moving back no matter what he said. Would he go to?? I think it would be good for him to experience how hard it is to give so much up!

Yeah I know ;)
You had a great job! :)))

I don't believe Magnus would go. Magnus said if he moves there, he has to have a job first as he's not selling everything and moving over to only start over again from rock bottom. And that they would have to pay him the same salary over there if he works within GE Medical Systems or another similar to job to his... (I think he'd get even more than what he makes here, lol!)

Great answers, thanks for sharing! They are lovely memories of your brother. So cute :) And I love the story about the 'boyfriend' announcement ;) I'll have to look up Keith Whitley once I'm online at home.
