Grumpy.

I'm feeling anti-social and grumpy today. I did not in any way want to work today, but well, I had to and stuff. When I wasn't working, I felt all guilty and stuff about being home all day and squandering a college degree. Now I'm still squandering the degree, but I have to work all the time and never have time for all the fun things I want to do. Tell me again why this is a good thing?

I also got yelled at by an old man today. Apparently, I did not bag the bananas to suit him. I never realized that there was a particular skill in bagging bananas, but seemingly, there is, and I do not possess it. Of course, no one else complains about my banana-bagging skills, so maybe I should have just refused to sell him any bananas at all for being mean. And while I'm griping.. what's with people who come in and ask if the corn/cherries/nectarines/peaches are any good? What the heck do they think I'm going to say? "Nah, man, that stuff is crap. Go buy it at Kroger."? I hardly think so. Those plums are paying my hourly wage, by golly.

Anyway. Moving past produce, if I can. M went to Wally World to get a few things, and I couldn't bear the thought of seeing any more people, so I stayed home. I'm rather anti-social, by nature. I'm really fine with that, now that I've realized it and can work with it. But when I wake up in a don't-even-talk-to-me mood, it sucks tremendous amounts to work in retail. :) People wear me down after a while. So I'm thoroughly enjoying the silence at the moment, and my next stop is the couch with a book. And I'm going to pretend that I don't remember that I have things that need done.. for at least an hour or two. :)

I wish you'd told me how shit you were at bagging bananas before I befriended you.....

Rofl! You made me laugh out loud. I know, I should have mentioned my woeful banana deficiency before we became friends, but I just didn't know how serious an issue I had with it. Dreadfully sorry. ;)

I guarantee you people are idiots. I have never understood why people ask if something you're selling is any good. @_@ If you figure out the 'trick' to bagging bananas, do share! *LOL*

*huggles* This one guy came in and stood, pondering a watermelon last week. He finally asked me, in a skeptical voice, if the watermelons were any good. I answered (truthfully) that I hadn't had any, but my parents ate one the night before and said that it was the best watermelon they'd ever had. And then he left. Without buying a watermelon. What kind of recommendation would have made him purchase the darned thing, if that didn't do it?! And if he wasn't going to buy it, then why ask?! Arrgh!

Ah, all the tell-tale signs of an introvert ;-) Have you ever done the Meyers-Briggs or Keirsy personality typing tests?

Yep. I'm pretty sure I'm the same one as you.. is it INFJ? 1% or so of the population, more common in women, slightly more common in the internet user population? We had to do it in the integrative capstone class thingie (otherwise known as the "do some IT work for people who want it done for free" class) in college.

Did we discuss this before?? Sorry about that! My short term memory is going... going... (soon to be gone!)

Yep, but that's okay... Better your short-term memory than your long-term, I would imagine. :)

Glenna just had to comment on this!!!

ROTF. Kisha I think I've felt your pain here! I never dislike someone as much as I did that man. He gave me hell. I ended up doing a project that he used for his benefit when interviewing at a college in Florida. You know, another "excellent example" of his hard work as a professor at MSU. I could scream.

*grin* That sucks! ;) I actually got lucky so I can't complain too much. He liked me, for some reason, which helped. Anyway, I ended up in a group by myself. I could have joined these two guys who basically told me I didn't have to do anything, they were going to get this other friend of theirs to do it all in flash.. a site for their dad's construction company. So I asked to do something else.. I put oodles of time into that thing and all the documentation, but at least I got something out of it. Two somethings, counting my semester-long headache, but still!

I'm with you on the stupid questions part. Besides, don't bananas already come with their own bags anyway? ;-)

Nope, bananas don't come in their own bags.. *ponder* unless you're referring to the peel as the bag? And if that's what you meant, I'm dreadfully sorry for misunderstanding (and therefore ruining) the joke! ;) Cute, anyway. :)

I recall the above being part of a joke, but now I can't remember its origin or the whole story. You're right though, the peel was to be considered the bag. I'll try and think before I type next time. :-)

PS. I realised I'd forgotten to answer part of one of your questions so I've added the answer in. And if the man comes in again, put single bananas in their own bags and if he queries it tell him that that is the new way of doing it to prevent the bananas from mutating.

I'm going to have nightmares now about mutating bananas. Thanks a lot. :)
