nice to be gone but glad to be home.

The spontaneous visit with my parents went over quite well, and it was also a welcome break for us. When we're at home lately, it's all house, all the time. It was kind of nice to be away and have a real reason for not doing something productive, and we're going to be pretty busy for the next few weeks and so we probably won't be going up again for several weeks. Everyone appreciated the pictures and we talked a lot about various things we have planned, and it was just generally quite nice except for a few hours when I was afraid I had contracted a stomach flu.

I have tomorrow off, and if I had been responsible, I probably would have seen if I could switched it out for a day next week, as I have requested two days off for moving. Speaking of moving, I have consulted with my mother, who has agreed that she would just love to come help me clean my new house. Yay for mommies! I don't recall if she actually used the words "love to" but I'm sure that's what she meant. Looking forward to it, though, and hoping that I'll get a few more things crossed off my to-do list. And a few more lists made, at that. I am even listier than usual these days for some strange reason.

Oh, one thing that made me smile a little. They were talking about our house this week, and my great-uncle said, "Aww, they'll be fine. All the two of them want is to be together anyway." (Probably a reference to our disposable income reduction.) Because, first of all, it wouldn't have been out-of-character for that particular uncle to say something outrageous, so I didn't know where Mom was going with this story when she told us about it. And secondly, for the longest time, people kept blaming the fact that we honestly like each other on being newlyweds. Apparently it has finally sunk in that we've been married for over five years now, and maybe we're just like that. Because, we are. We're every bit as obnoxious in real-life as we are online.

Apparently I don't have much else to say. I am stressing about the home insurance issue for some reason today. Well, the mortgage guy left a message on M's phone saying that if we didn't have the info to him by Monday or Tuesday at the latest, it was going to delay the closing. I had thought we had until closing to get it, but apparently not. I guess that's what's bothering me about it. It will seriously mess up our plans if we don't close when they said we would, what with the whole moving thing. But we do have a Plan for getting it tomorrow, which will probably mean letting our loan officer know by Tuesday morning, so I don't know why it's bugging me so much. I'll be glad to have it over with. Much like this stupid post.

I giggled at you two being obnoxious in real life :) I think you are obviously a perfect match for wach other and maybe people who don't have that wonder about those who do. People stare at us in public as Lars-Göran has picked up my habit of insult rather than terms of endearment. So I hear things like pappskalle, tjockskalle, or even "Listen, face-ache..." instead of "sweetie", "darling" etc. And his family are now expecting a divorce announcement any day now.

Have fun moving. I'd offer to help, but I have to cut my toenails that day. I know you understand :)

Oh, that's so familiar! M calls me a bitch in such an endearing way. (My personal preference is for "tricksy bitch" but he often has other adjectives that he uses.) We both have a tendency to tease each other brutally, but sometimes people start looking uncomfortable like, "are they serious? i hate it when couples fight in public!" so we have to tone our affection down. People just don't understand.
