M and I went up to visit family today without telling anyone we were coming. That went over well. It's not technically our Sunday, but we've missed a couple due to me being sick and then the rib. It hurts to ride in a car. As expected, the rib got worse again today after four hours in the car, so I am just hoping we didn't make a big mistake. Anyway, while we were driving up there, we decided that we are ready to drop the no-tell policy on suggested names, and we told my family what our two top choices are. Right now, we're pretty sure that it will be one of these names, although one of the middle names (Grace) may be changed. The outcome of this poll will not necessarily be the name we choose. I will save all further commentary on the names and the reactions of my family until tomorrow, so as not to influence your vote. Oh, and you don't have to vote for the name you think is mine. Really! We're actually negotiating really well so it's not necessary.

Yayyyyy!!!! So nice to see the names :) I love all of them, even Bertha. Both Evelyn and Linnea are gorgeous. But I have ALWAYS been a huge fan of the name Linnea and so I had to vote for that. Although I have to say my preference would be Linnea Grace :) I adore it. But I do like Evelyn too. I'm partial to Linnea partly because my dear sweet granny was called Nea and Linnea is the only way I've ever come across the name since via our LJ friends but also because I just picture the cutest girl. But then I do with Evelyn too. Great choices :)

I chose Evelyn Grace ... I love, love, LOVE it. I generally try not to offer commentary about people's name choices, but since you asked, I will say that I agree about Linnea being better with Grace. I don't think it "matches" with Sage well.

I'm with everyone else... I do like Linnea Grace. I love the Swedish connection with Linnea but I do like the name Evelyn as well. My girls are Abigail and Elizabeth. I have a thing for those "older" names.

Wow! That was hard. I love the name Linnea but the name Evelyn Grace is just so beautiful. It matches and sounds very nice together.

It was also difficult not choosing Bertha Lou, just for fun. But, I knew I only had one vote so I had to use it wisely.

I really don't think you could go wrong with either of the names. Which is great because I'm pretty picky with names.

Gosh, I think you can't go wrong with either name. Of course I like Linnea since it's my daughter's name. But my friend was considering Evelyn too and to call her Evie as a nickname (which I just found adorable!)

I guess since I like them both, it would be down to only which sounds better with your last name (I don't expect you to reveal that here). Good names guys! :D

Okay, can I admit now that I was really hoping that the reason I started talking about using a friend's kid's name was in hopes that you would comment and tell me I was being ridiculous? *laugh* I honestly didn't see you minding because it's not like we spend a lot of real life time together ;), but I was just clearing the list of any objections I might have!

Our last name is Yayer, only in Swedish. (Think Erik Gustaf.) Just to avoid spelling it out, but I use the phoenetic spelling all the time here. I realized this morning that I should have mentioned that last night.

Ha! That's funny that you'd think I'd mind. Frankly I think Linnea is one of the top 5 names in Sweden right now, so you'll have a beautiful and original name in the US, and a very trendy one in Sweden. :-) You can tell I didn't care.

But with your last name, I'm going to have to go with Evelyn. The "ay" sound is the same in both names, too much "ay" I vote.
