It seems like I have better luck posting when I start writing something early in the morning and add to it all day. You get somewhat disjointed entries that way, but at least I am saying something. Grumpy Girl comes out to play in the evenings, usually. I personally think she's faking her belly aches so we will feed her more mylicon drops. At a certain point, it seems to stop being her belly, and then it is suddenly that she is so tired that she can't stand herself. I knew that sleep issues were a huge deal, but I never really got how utterly absorbing one can find them until now. When your life revolves around something that prevents you from sleeping, I guess it's only natural that's all you'd think about.

M didn't get his hair cut last night, and he won't be getting one tonight, either. I'm hoping that my mom will come down to spend the night sometime soon. Maybe he can get a haircut then. I have also volunteered her for babysitting duty so that we can maybe go to a movie. We never go to movies and suddenly there are movies out that we want to see and can't. Terribly unfair.

A couple of days after I got home from the hospital, I woke up with a slightly raspy voice. It sounds like I'm just barely sick, and it will break occasionally. I figured it was just my allergies or something, but it has now been almost a month and my voice is still weird. I was expecting my feet to get bigger--haven't really checked--because everyone kept telling me that they would, but my voice? No one ever said my voice would change. It's not much. My mom didn't even notice it, though she said that she was a little hoarse after I was born.. and that she would never have remembered that again if I hadn't asked about it.

Insert conclusion here, as I would rather be in bed than writing by now.

I was hoarse for some time after giving birth too... something to do with putting quite a strain on my vocal chords. :-)

A friend of mine was hit by a car and her voice became hoarse. The doctor told her that sometimes stress or exhaustion can cause your voice chords to tighten. Hers got so bad over time that she had to visit a speech therapist to learn how to talk without stressing them. Wild no?

Hey I thought of you and another friend of mine yesterday while listening to this podcast for parenting in the tech age. Since we're a computer/geek family, this was right up our alley and Pete and I enjoyed listening to it together on the drive from my parents back home. It's a new one from the TWiT (This Week in Tech) people and they are trying to come up with things that are helpful/not helpful to parents.

Jumping Monkeys Even if you don't have time to listen to the podcast, I suggest you look at the links. Rookie Moms would have been something great for me had it been around when I had my first child. Even the Parent Hacks looks promising . . .
