We finally got around to taking "official" pictures of Evelyn this weekend. We've been putting it off for ages. Our yard was looking pretty scruffy even before Ike destroyed the tree, and thus the backyard, so we decided to take a little trip down to the game farm near our house and snap a few pictures. Problems with this approach included the glaring afternoon sunlight and the fact that even though we remembered to bring the tripod, we forgot the stupid little attachment so we didn't use it anyway. Oh, and also, our baby thinks she's too good to smile at the camera these days. You should have heard me singing loudly about the wheels on the bus (they go round and round, round and round) in an attempt to get her to even look at the camera. Actually, strike that, you shouldn't have heard it. Even M, my number one fan, knows I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Still, we really liked how several of them turned out, so I'm satisfied with the outcome.

I think this one is M's favorite.


The wipers go... what? Swish swish swish? Hmm. Mildly amusing at best, Mother.


This one might be my favorite. It's just so cute, even though it has a few photographic problems.


Bet you're surprised to see me let her play with dirt, aren't you? Don't worry, it's still me--I wiped her hands down with wet wipes as soon as we got back to the car, followed by a proper handwashing five minutes later and a bath that evening.

She's really beautiful and I have to say that I much prefer these kind of more natural shots than the posed ones. And that last one is fantastic!
