The Zoo in Pictures
Sep. 11th, 2009 09:38 pmWe had a lovely day at the zoo! I wish I could say that it was an unwhiny day at the zoo, but at least our moods were high enough that we could look past Miss Crankypants and enjoy the day anyway. She was mostly pretty good but somewhat contrary.

Here's a silly family photo to get us started.

The best part about zoos is that they have all these animals, and sometimes you can even SIT on them! Awesome!

Sadly, we saw a little more of this grumpy face than we'd have liked. Poor kid was just too tired for her own good.

Evelyn's favorite method of transportaiton.

Remember how I said that she was tired? Even when I was taking this picture, she was denying that she was at all tired. She just loves rhinos, she says. Uh huh.

And while we were there, she got to ride her first merry-go-round. She loved it! It was her very favorite part of the whole day (which is convenient because merry-go-rounds are more common in our life than zoos...)
The zoo itself was okay. I don't think it was fantastic but it was nice enough--pretty small but that's okay when one has a two-year-old. She couldn't have taken much more as it was. I think it could have been terrible and we'd have still had a great time, though. :)
Now, close your eyes a minute and picture being in the zoo. What zoo are you at, and what are you looking at? When I close my eyes and picture a zoo, I am usually either in Memphis (lions or similar) or Cincinnati (frogs or walking). It's strange, the little moments that stick with us for years.
