I freaking love my shopping hobby. I try not to talk about it constantly but it is SO MUCH FUN. I had a profit of almost twenty bucks at Walgreens this evening, and then we went to Walmart, where we bought $67 worth of stuff (including a $15 water filter) for $5.80. I could spend less than that with proper coupon math, but I'm already skating pretty close to the edge in terms of visibility so I plan to spend a few dollars just so I don't stand out TOO much.
Oh good! I hear singing in the hallway. M is doing baby sleep duty and it's taken him a lot longer than usual. It is usually really annoying because I work with her for an hour and she is perkier than ever, and then he gets her to sleep in fifteen minutes.
We are possibly having another yard sale this weekend, here at home. My parents are possibly coming down, too. I think the only real question has been about the weather, but it's looking good right now. I suppose I should put it in the paper. I don't really have as much stuff as usual, given that we just had a sale a week and a half ago, but I still have plenty and the more I get rid of before the end of the season, the better. I'm planning on unpacking everything into my little room.. should be interesting and crowded.
Today was a good day. You know it's so easy to gripe about fussy babies and stubborn toddlers and willful displays of rottenness, but you kind of have to make an effort to point it out when things are going well. It should be the other way around, but alas, it is not. We cleaned the kitchen this morning, and I sorted through some baby clothes to keep and to sell and to return to lenders. I'm feeling much less sentimental than I used to about her clothes, and need to go through the tubs we have in the basement again too. Evelyn gets a lot of stuff from yard sales that my mom (or I) go to, and realistically, any future children will too, so it's not like they'd be naked if we got rid of the stuff I didn't care for much, just because my wee ickle widdle baby girl wore it two times and once, I spilled tylenol on the front of it and then finally got the stain out of. Or whatever. I do have a lot of memories attached to those clothes. I love having a girl because it's just like playing dress-up with a particularly adorable doll.
When does a kid stop being a toddler and start being a preschooler? E is 28 months and "toddler" isn't feeling particularly appropriate anymore. I think of toddlers as... toddling. I dunno, just another one of those deep and burning questions that keep me up late at night.
Anyway, I have to go take a picture for the other blog now that M is not out there trying to get E to sleep. If I was smart, I'd probably go to bed soon afterward but we all know that won't happen.
