Today has been a fairly long and busy day at home. If all days were like this, I probably wouldn't feel so horrible about not working, but alas, there's only so much laundry that needs done in our household. Besides the laundry, I did a bunch of straightening up and cleaned the bathroom and other such things. I can probably get one more day of housework outta this place, and then I'm going to have a clean house and nothing to do.. haha.

I'm afraid I'm getting a little too domesticated, actually. After dinner, I was dividing up the massive amounts of leftovers (lasagna) into lunch portions, two of which are destined for M to take to work. The bowls with lids are in a tricky cabinet for short girls to navigate, and of course, finding one the right size that we have a lid for is always a problem. M, whose way I was in, finally said, "why don't you just use a butter bowl? they're too big but it'll be fine." And I, of course, replied that it would be embarrassing to send my husband off to work with an ugly bowl. Wtf does it matter!?

I checked out the watch situation this afternoon and was relieved to find that I do have one watch that's actually running. Magnus's mom gave it to me when we were in Sweden last year, which I thought was very nice. I have a history of problems with watches, in general. Someone said it had to do with magnetics.. my grandmother was the same way. They just stop working long before they're supposed to. I once bought a watch and returned it the next day because it was already dead. Typically, I had a few months with them before replacing. Then I bought a Guess watch on sale at some point for $20, and it actually didn't stop working prematurely. I wore exclusively Guess watches for years until Magnus brought me one on a visit.. It was just like his, only smaller. I was worried about it, but it also managed to stay functional until I stopped using it in favor of this watch, which broke down this week after two years. *sigh* It was a good watch, and I feel sure that it would have lasted longer than that if someone else had been wearing it. (And yes, I replaced the battery and that didn't help.)

Bet you never thought you'd learn about someone's life history with personal timing devices today when you got up this morning, did ya?
