Today, Bush signed legislation enacting a national "do-not-call" list aimed at blocking unwanted telemarketing. This is, of course, good because it'll be a firm step towards killing the telemarketing industry. Charities and surveys and people you've done business with are exempt from this law, of course. Wanna guess who else is exempt? Calls representing politicians, of course.. how else would this bill get through? ;)

And furthermore, a company linked to our esteemed vice president Cheney has won a Pentagon contract about rebuilding oil fields in the case of a potential war. I don't think I need to say anything more about that.

EWWWWW I do hate election time for that reason!

I'm thankful for the no call list! :-)

I don't mind the charity, because the one I give to is a thrift store and it's nice that they come and pick the stuff up!

I don't have any money to give away, but when I do become rich, thanks to you, I'll remember never to give them my # with the donation!!

Kentucky enacted a no-call list last year, and I'm so surprised at how well it's been working. We hardly ever get telemarketing calls now. Of course, our main problem was AT&T.. they called at least once a day for like two months. It was incredible. :)
