I switched from Outlook Express to Outlook over the weekend and suddenly, I'm getting less email than I used to. Isn't that weird? I'm going to have to switch back so people start mailing me again! ;)

Today was busy busy. I spent the afternoon getting the house picked up a little (didn't finish with that completely) and getting Whitley's presents ready. We bought her The Princess Bride DVD and then there were the socks and earrings. I didn't finish the bracelet, and didn't tell her about it either. I didn't want to finish it anyway. *laugh* She was pretty happy when she realized what the socks were about, but she was extremely confused when she opened the box to begin with, especially as I wrapped em in a hastily decorated DVD case.

I also made myself write out a meal plan, and I'm going to try to do that from now on. I would cook so much more, and better stuff, if we had the right ingredients, but we never know what we're going to make when we're at the store. So this week, we're having penne with a vodka cream sauce, a broccoli quiche, manicotti and swedish pizza. I didn't plan any further than that officially, but it's likely we'll have garlic chicken on Saturday. So.. three new recipes this week and two favorites (the pizza and chicken). I love doing new recipes.

With the meal plan in hand, we even managed to do the grocery shopping tonight. We've actually never even considered the idea that one of us should do all the grocery shopping--we always go together. The cute thing is that it's because of Vivo. When I first arrived in Sweden, I could spend ages walking around wide-eyed in Vivo (grocery store), checking out the tubes of tomato paste and whatnot. We had such a nice time together shopping for our groceries. :) Now, of course, there's nothing exotic about going to Kroger, but we still think of it as an outing.. which makes doing it much less like a chore... though the other shoppers probably think we're annoying when we carry on conversations in the aisles. Even more so a few months ago.. we made grocery time our Swedish time and only spoke Swedish to each other while we were there. Observers were extremely confused. (As was I.. hence the discontinuation of grocery language time.. giggle.)

You know what really annoys me? When people go to the grocery store, pick up something refridgerated and carry it around a while and then decide that they don't want it anymore and leave it on a shelf somewhere. I could care less if it's a can of beans, but it's really not nice to leave a pound of ground beef in the toilet paper aisle! Or, in today's case, a package of cheese in a magazine rack. As I said to Magnus.. people that lazy shouldn't be allowed to eat.

I have a bunch of printer ink cartridges that I want to sell, but I haven't decided exactly how to go about it. Ebay seems to be full of people selling generic stuff--and not doing so well, at that--but I have fourteen actual Canon cartridges (three full sets and a couple extra) for the BJC-600 series. Any ideas on places other than Ebay?

Swedish pizza? It's different than the pizza here?? :o

BTW... do you think you could e-mail me your mailing address? I wanted to send you a card and I couldn't find the envelope that had your address on it. :( I can't keep up with crap, I swear.

Sure, I'll send the address in a few minutes. :)

Yep, swedish pizza is different. It's good, but it's just not pizza in the way we think of it. The crust is extremely thin, but not crispy, for one thing.. which makes it harder to eat with your hands as we usually do with pizza here... it's too flopsy! And the toppings are extremely different. Salami (which makes me gag) instead of pepperoni.. hmm, guess you wouldn't care so much about that one... hehe. But ox and bearnaise sauce, eggs, artichoke hearts, asparagus, shrimp, mussels, chicken, pineapple, bananas.. all common toppings. Oh, and you order them by names, not individual ingredients. (So.. order a Vesuvius, not a pizza with shrimp and mushrooms and onion). I got the feeling they're not too crazy about special orders, either... though as Magnus did all the ordering for his English-speaking, picky-eater girlfriend, I can't say for sure if that's true.. *grin*
