The Weekend

There was a pizza sale today! Yay! $5 for a large carry-out, so we stopped on the way back from WalMart. There's just something wonderful about pizza for dinner. Sometimes, things like that make me realize all over again that I'm a grown-up and can eat whatever I want for dinner. Magnus had just such a moment today, and he had ice cream for lunch. *laugh*
I completely forgot about the time change until I noticed that it was almost noon according to my computer, which had turned automatically. It sucked unbelievably.. today ended up being much too short! It's nearly bedtime already! Argh! Magnus wants an extra day this weekend, and so stealing an hour from the one he already is quite unfair. :(
I worked at the store for a few hours this afternoon. I stayed there while the parents went to lunch and then did stuff in the back. Dad's been doing paperwork and Mom's been cleaning cabinets and stuff. Magnus came home and worked on his mandolins. I reprogrammed the register (one that Dad had from before) last night and we got it running this morning.. the one they had didn't keep a running total of what was sold during the day, and adding up tickets at the end of the day is for the birds.
I'm still not sure how much I'll be working, but I figure it doesn't really matter. If I work forty hours a month--four days--I'd make enough to cover my insurance and that'd be nice. Insurance is so freaking expensive! I'm glad we have it, though. It starts this week.. we got the cards in the mail yesterday. And you know what that means--we could start popping out babies any time now! ;) *laugh* Or not. :) Anyway. Speaking of money, we made $400 or something yesterday by transferring money from our Swedish account. These are approximately the best exchange rates since M moved, and since they're on the way back up, we decided that it was as good a time as any to move it to our US account. Kinda neat, though profiting on a sucky economy doesn't make me feel like the nicest person in the world. :)
We went to Lexington yesterday, which was probably not the brightest thing in the world to do if you're both feeling tired and cranky. :) I'm feeling much less tired today, though, which is a relief. I fell asleep on the couch last night just after watching Ocean's Eleven again. We do love that movie. It's so incredibly cool. Magnus bought Pulp Fiction a week or two ago and I think he wanted to watch it, but I had a hideous headache and was very tired, so I didn't really feel like watching something I hadn't seen, if that makes sense.
Oh, and I also got to do some clearance rack shopping! Mom asked if we would go to WalMart and get Contact paper to put in the cabinets when she got done with the cleaning. I had picked out a nice apple design (fruit!) and was headed to the register when I saw the clearance aisle.. and they just happened to have a somewhat uglier pattern for $2 each. The regular price was $5.76, so instead of $30 for five rolls, I bought six rolls for $12. And furthermore, I've been craving chocolate chip cookies for days, and I finally bought some (also on sale, but less so). Yay. :) I love the feeling of buying something on sale. Such power... ;)
