I was actually so busy yesterday I didn't have a single chance to post or reply to stuff. That's somewhat of a pet peeve of mine with say, email. People will send you a reply and say that they're sorry it's taken so long, but they've been so BUSY. Well, yes, I understand busy, but almost all of the time, what they should say is "Sorry it's taken so long, but you were not my first priority." There's almost always five minutes in a day when they *could* answer email if they wanted, but they'd rather relax for those few minutes or something. and I'm not saying that I necessarily should be their first priority, but it bugs me when they don't give me credit for being able to figure it out. Whenever someone says that, I usually am reminded by that thing that people say when they've had an affair, as if it should make everything all better. "But it didn't MEAN anything." I've never understood that, either.

Well, that was an unexpected direction. Almost as unexpected as the reason I couldn't update yesterday. I finished with dinner and mail checking at 8, after working until 6. M went to lay down to stretch his back, so I went in to snuggle up with him. Next thing you know, we're waking up and it's 10:30.. so I got up, turned the lights off and brushed my teeth and promptly went back to bed. I knew that if we got up, we would end up awake until very late.. but I don't know if we've ever gone to bed that early! We woke up around 8, feeling well-rested, though!

We did make it to Jungle Jim's today, though, so our very long nap last night helped us out. Normally, we sleep late on Saturdays and then realize we don't want to leave town that late in the day. It's 2.5+ hours up there, so it's not something we'll do very often. It was worth the drive, though, because we had such a nice day. We ate an excellent lunch, which resulted in us also

*** Apparently this resulted in us getting a headache and going to bed early, according to this anonymous typer and putter-to-bed-of-sleepy-girls. ***

Yeah but saying you're busy, in my opinion, is one of those things that should be generally acceptable by most people because everyone knows what it's like to be busy, and quite honestly, there are some days when, if you've been particularly busy, you need those five minutes to rest and not think. And sometimes, it's just a bit nicer to say you were "busy" than to say you didn't want to deal with the rest of the world's problems because you have enough of your own right now...and of course if you're that busy, it takes less time to just say you were busy and give a short apology than to explain why the day has been so busy! ;) Wow that was a fun post...completely meaningless ramble!

Generally acceptable by MOST people, there's the key! *grin* I mean, I know that people WOULDN'T come right out and say that the other person isn't a priority but it still bugs me because.. well, there's a quote (quote, damn him, quote!) that says it well.. something like "Have you ever noticed that even the busiest people aren't too busy to tell you how busy they are?" I've always thought that was true. People want others to think they're swamped with things to do, for some reason. It's weird. I don't freak out when people say it or anything, and I've done it myself, but it still annoys me on some passive level. ;)
