I'm actually working with Visual Basic again. I haven't done much of anything with it since spring of 99, when I took the class and all. I just never had a use for it. And, subsequently, I've forgotten almost everything. But! I'm learning again! I've had to look a LOT of stuff up, and remember the syntax and stuff, but it's been lots of fun. Except I keep wanting to put semicolons everywhere. It all looks so incomplete. ;) I'm making an all-purpose converter for my foreign husband. :) We're always trying to figure out one conversion or another.. temperature, weight, volume, etc. I've seen similar things before, but the one we have is somewhat broken. Not quite accurate. And missing volume. Anyway. This is fun, it gives me a nice project, and it refreshes my skills. I've gotten the weight section done already. Ounces, pounds and grams. That was what he requested. :)
We've had a nice evening. We played Chinese checkers and watched Gilligan's Island together. We had fettucini-ish alfredo for dinner. Mostly spaghetti noodles, with some fettucini thrown in (you know, the "last of" pasta box dinner). And a jar sauce, which was much much better than we expected it to be. It was actually *good*, and we were sort of thinking it wouldn't be. Ragu, if you were wondering. Magnus had inordinate amounts of fun watching Behind the Music: Garbage, and then we've been doing computery things together this evening. We did the dishes together. We're considering making that a nightly thing. There's not much room to have two people doing dishes, and it's always been his job, so we just haven't. But now I've been doing them during the day some, since he works and stuff. So we were thinking that we might do them together, as it'll be quicker and easier (as they get done every night) and more importantly, it'll be a little quality time of talking and stuff. Doesn't that sound nice and domestic? *hsigh*
The schedule says that he gets off at 5 tomorrow. It's weird, because it says that he works 8:30 - 5, but all the other days are 8:30 - 6. So.. Something is either weird or wrong. I'm hoping for weird, of course. :)
My baby is going to tighten the screws in my glasses. If I start typoing a lot, that's because I really can't see the screen. I'm going to attempt writing anyway.
I suppose I'll have to go to the grocery tomorrow, or figure out what to do with chicken and defrost it. I'm getting so tired of chicken. :)
Yay! Freshly tightened glasses! They were beginning to get really loose, and I was afraid they were going to fall apart when Magnus wasn't here to put them back together. Can't fully convey the importance of having him around for that. I really am blind as a bat. It makes finding and replacing tiny screws nearly impossible. :)
Oh, a dilemma. It seems that as soon as I get done writing this, it'll be bedtime. On one hand, I'm really kind of done with my entry for the day. On the other hand.. I'm not sleepy! Should I ramble on incoherently for another twenty minutes in the hopes that eventually I'll get tired, or should I give up and go on to bed, since I'll probably fall asleep quickly enough anyway? I'm so indecisive...
