There are no plans for today, and we're not sure what to do until we leave for Paul's tonight. Paul (Absolon) is a friend from the mud we met on, and virtually our only mutual friend, given the whole circumstances of our previous lives (as in, previous to being married, not previous as in reincarnation) being on separate continents from each other, and also given the fact that most of my previous friends have mysteriously disappeared. I could elaborate on people who don't even send a card to the wedding of the girl they used to consider their best friends, much less show up at said wedding, but I suppose I won't.

Yesterday was fun. We went shopping first. We had lunch at Taco Bar to being with, at Sollentuna Centrum. It was my craving-La Finca's place when I was here before, and it was pretty good, although not, of course, a real Mexican place.

We then went to Coop Forum, and I finally bought my book. I've been looking for a book in Swedish to read. It had to have some strict requirements, and finally I found one that met them. It needed to be interesting and entertaining, for one thing. It needed to not have been translated from English. It needed to be short--let's be realistic here, I may want to expand my vocabulary, but I don't want to read War and Peace or similar. I considered a romance novel, but decided that I couldn't stay interested in two people long enough to get to the end. So. I bought a book by Jonas Gardell called Vill Gå Hem (translated rougly to: wanna go home.) We were talking about it later last night and couldn't think what it was called. So I checked this morning and came out to tell M what it was. I told him the title, without an explanation, and he got a somewhat panicked look on his face and said "Why?! What's wrong?!" It was funny.. guess I got the pronounciation right this time. he usually looks at me like I'm on crack when I use random Swedish sentences and then makes a big deal out of not understanding what I mean.... ;)

So. Went to Ikea, but that was less fun than expected cause we really couldn't buy anything, due to being on the wrong continent and having no place to put it anyway. We came home and got ready to go to Tomas's. I woke up with a brainstorm yesterday morning, and that was to disassemble our sofa bed. It was tremendously lumpy with the springs in the bottom and such, and also slanted. So I convinced M (he was a bit relunctant, at first, as the floor is concrete and he was sure the change wouldn't be an improvement) to put the mattresses on the floor, and it was absolutely the greatest idea I've had in a while. Sleeping last night was a marked improvement.. now I just hope the aches and pains that have accumulated from travelling and sleeping on the sofa go away at least by the time we have to get back on the plane. :) I have a serious shoulder issue. My right shoulder feels like it's broken.. has been like that since the second day we were here. It sucks a lot. Anyway, that was what we worked on while getting ready to leave, and it was wonderful enough that I thought it worth mentioning.

We've just officially decided that we're going to do nothing until we go to Paul's. M is watching a movie.. it's just now coming on, but it's in Swedish so I don't think I'll be watching that much.

Anyway. Then the main part of our day yesterday. Erik took us to the train (we were suddenly running late after a mishap with the backpack breaking) and we took the train to Älvsjö, which is where Tomas lives. We visited with him for a while, and then we helped him cook dinner just a little bit (peeling and cutting, that sort of thing). We had a very nice dinner.. parmesan chicken and potatoes au gratin and salad. I think M's friends and family have finally accepted the fact that I don't actually drink much, so I got to have a lovely Coke with dinner, and that was good.

After dinner, we sat around talking and listening to (for the most part sucky.. sorry guys) music. We had a really good time, and didn't leave until almost 3. Took a taxi home, as the trains don't run that late, and the driver made me somewhat fear for my life, but he did get us from there to here (Sollentuna) in approximately eight minutes.. hehe. Well, a little more than eight, but still!

This movie really doesn't seem all that special to me, but M seems to be enjoying it. Animated in manner of Chicken Run. Also, I've been reading the sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary, which is probably apparent from the last sentence if you've read it.

I'm having a somewhat easier time with this keyboard, but it's still sucky to type like this. The keys are all in the wrong places! But this has turned into a novel, so I guess I might as well end it here in any event.
