Monday night
Sep. 17th, 2002 12:42 amToday's news: I got a Mac!
I went to the MSU surplus sale today and bought a complete shabang for $35. Even came with three powercords (the nice lady gave me one extra just in case the other two didn't work, which I thought was nice.) I brought it home and set it up with a great deal of trepidation and excitement.. and it works. It seems to have a few quirks or something, but that could be my lack of experience using one. It has OS9 installed. One troublesome issue is the cdrom, though. Nothing really happens when you put something in. But hey! $35! I even managed to work out transferring files from the PC to the Mac (disks aren't compatible), so if I download something, I can transfer it.. under 1.44 MB, of course. This severely limits my options. Frustratingly enough, it has a network card, and I've attached it to our router and so it should have an internet connection.. but it doesn't. :( Would have solved a lot of problems, but oh well.
We had dinner with the parents and aunt/uncle and more people tonight on the mountain. It was nice. I'll probably be somewhat busy this week with the festival, so I don't know how much I'll be around. I'm certainly sleepy at the moment, so think I'll take myself off to bed. Night!
