I've turned down the extremely promising opportunity to spend tomorrow walking around the same stores I was in on Saturday and spending three hours more than necessary in one additional store. I might have gone had it not been for our weekend outing to Huntington, but it's an hour and a half of driving, so when we go, I want it to be worth something, ya know?

I did my good citizen duty and voted today. After we had dinner at the parents, we sat around listening to the results on the radio and ended up extremely disappointed. A close friend of the family lost his race for jailer. He's been in office for nine or ten years. :( I feel so bad for him, and what's worse is that, as far as I can tell, the guy he lost to is a real jerk. His campaign and debate speech were so ugly, and his "issues" were nicely debunked as not even issues at all. He's a Democrat, and even if I hadn't known the other guy, I *still* wouldn't have voted for him. (I'm a flaming liberal, ya know.) Aaargh. :(

Other than that, nothing special about the day. It was miserable weather.. cold and raining. We got some long-overdue grocery shopping done, and I got an email from Susan, my friend from Augusta, grades four through six. Talked to my chickles for a while on ICQ, had lunch with the parents, Whitley and Shannan. Tried to come up with a Christmas wish list. Oh! And I got an early present from the parents! Every year they give us a new Hallmark ornament, It's so cute.. a little pot rack with pots and pans and spoons and stuff hanging from it.

Hmm.. Should I sit here with achy knees and write more in this silly journal, or shall I go to bed and cuddle with the hubby under freshly cleaned sheets? Decisions, decisions..
