Crazy List Girl.
Jun. 21st, 2005 06:29 pmI am going to warn you in advance that this is not going to be exciting or interesting.
starrflowerr was teasing me about my to-do list today, since I'm always talking about it here, and we got into a discussion of my ridiculous list-making tendencies, and the contents and quantity of the items thereof. It was when I pointed out that I have sublists that she began to look at me as if I was a little farther gone on the crazy scale than she had imagined. (By the way, if you actually knew her, you would be laughing right now because she is so nice that she would never ever imply such a thing, but sometimes I say things just for effect. Sue me.) Anyway, I had no idea how many things were on my list, but since she was asking me, I thought I would share the joy that is my listiness and answer her question at the same time.
There are 77 items on my main list, of which fourteen have not been crossed off. Ooops, thirteen. (*crosses something off*) There are two sub-lists.. one in the top right corner named "Mosaic Minds" and containing such items as fix wiki, discontinued columns, cafepress, and one in the bottom right about the HTML cleanup project that I was so excited about in February that I never did a single thing with it. (The plan is to write a program that helps me format MM content.) It's not as much of a to-do list as it is a list of things I don't want to forget to add to the program when I get around to working on it.)
I would also point out that I keep a to-do list for months, so I have not at any point had 75 things to do, and sometimes I add stuff that I don't really need to put on there but I want a quick fix on the marking things off high. Sometimes something is on the list for so long that I just take it off when I make the next list, which is when I run out of space or the paper looks so ratty that I don't want to look at it anymore or I'm in a certain sort of productive mood. And sometimes I don't even have one at all. But, I get a lot more done when I get to cross stuff out.
A few things on the current list, exactly as written. Everything listed is marked out unless stated otherwise:
Brad graduation
clean shoes
put away books
pay rent
rebates (this is on the list three different times for different things)
charge gameboy
fix email
mop bathroom
pay bills (on list at least three times)
Erik's site (not finished)
hang up art
darci - swedish
comment spam
letter about pizza (the moldy crust)
wrap presents (M's birthday, not finished)
Also, I have a small list of mp3s that I want to remember that I like (bootleg, odd names) and a few random scribbes (9:00, and 97.5) that no longer mean anything at all.
M finds humor in my lists, but he did make me settle down when I proposed making a master list of all my lists..
