Today was a day of total sloth. The only thing I could say was productive about today is that I called in a prescription refill. I don't think I can count that, though, because we never got around to going to pick it up. I had Fruity Pebbles for two meals, and played the Sims along with feeling guilty because I need to write some stuff and I can't make myself do it. Tomorrow, we're going to do better, though.. we typically don't have two full days of worthlessness in a row. At least, I'm hoping we don't. I never got much sick, just felt a little off, and M didn't go very far, but we're both having trouble getting tired too quickly.. which sucks when you have stairs to navigate and you're exhausted by the time you get up them.

Last week, I declared that this winter was going to be the winter I defeated dry skin, and.. I am actually winning the war for once. I don't even have the humidifier out. I'm kind of afraid of it anyway because of the mold allergy, so if we can avoid it, that's good. My hands get really dry in the winter.. cracked and bleeding and nasty. Last year I tried being proactive and still ended up at a loss to keep them moisturized. This year, I turned to Google and it reminded me that common sense will always prevail, but also a few other small things that I wouldn't have thought of and a few that I can't bring myself to follow. (Fewer showers, warm rather than hot showers, etc.) However, Dr. Google says that most lotions contain alcohol and will ultimately work against you. So, a few times this week, I rubbed baby oil into my hands and legs. That worked, but I really hate the way it feels, so I bought petroleum jelly last night, and.. after two applications, my hands are softer than they are in the summer. It's also kind of nasty but I have a lot of trouble with my skin, so it's completely worth it.

I'm now over halfway through Crossroads of Twilight and I really, really want to finish it but I am so bored right now that I just want to scream. The problem, really, is that this is the same book as the last one, only whereas the last one was about the Big Event Going On, this one is what random people were doing while the event was taking place, and none of them have much idea what IS going on so they're walking around talking about how they don't know what's happening. And then there have been several chapters dedicated to completely random characters that you have met never, or almost never. I hate completely random people segments in books unless they're very short little bits or the person is someone you're actually interested in.

I bet the husband is probably sitting over there thinking, "wow, I wish I could rub the wife's back right about now." And I do strive to keep him happy, so I had better go give him the opportunity. Oh, the toil of marriage...
