Welcome back, Email! I missed you!
Dec. 6th, 2006 09:46 pmI have my email back! The data restoration program brought it back from the dead, and I am now in possession of all of my old email--or at least, I'm pretty sure that nothing is missing, and if there is, it isn't much. And, I will also tell you that as soon as I am done putting all the files back into their places, I will be doing a proper backup. I'm so happy that I didn't actually lose all of that stuff. It would have been even more convenient if I hadn't gone through this past week (and a MM issue) without it but I am NOT complaining. Thank you, magic computer fairy!
I have been working solidly on real life or computer tasks in the evenings lately, and I haven't really had a chance to do the LJ commenting thing as much as I would like, or return to the things that I wanted to write about. When I came home to post about the paint smell at work last week, I returned to work to find that I already had three reassuring comments, and I had to blink away tears. I may be hormonal but you are all just so lovely, and I appreciate it so much. Also, I had a sudden vision while blow-drying my hair yesterday morning, so I ran out to the little storage room off of the laundry room and immediately grabbed the Christmas cards that I had lost. Isn't it funny how your brain works?
I woke up with a backache this morning, and I called M in to rub at it before I even got out of bed. (Seriously. Marriage is excellent.) It didn't help, though. It feels like my spine is too short, and needs decompressed. I'm afraid that this has to do with the new firm mattress, and I really hope not. For one thing, I'll feel like a mean old moron if my parents have to bring our old bed all the way back down here, but also, this one looks much nicer. I finally stretched this afternoon in such a way that something went "shnickt!" at the base of my spine, and it felt better for a couple of hours. I was worn out by the time I got home from work, though, and had to lay down and rest for a few minutes to get the noise out of my head. (That might make sense to another introvert, but probably no one else.) This evening, the pain is back and it has caused secondary muscles to tense up in a really obnoxious way--neck, shoulders and lower back. And while I'm complaining, I'd like to add that I've had a headache every single day that I've been at work for the last two work weeks. FUN! I really need my chiropractor right about now.
M has "clean basement" on the to-do list, and it has a star beside it to indicate that it is high priority. And, it's funny because he goes down there almost every night, and he often talks about how he's working on the basement. And yet, I have never in my life heard of someone needing to use a bench sander or a bandsaw in order to clean. Because... if you do need those items to do your routine cleaning? You've got bigger issues, okay?
