I think M and I need to go visit with my parents and make sure they're okay. They bought a Wii this weekend, if you remember. My dad called me today to tell me that he had ordered DSL. They don't even have dial-up now! This is great news for us, though, because it means that I can email them now! And send pictures and stuff! And when we go visit, we can still have the internet at our disposal, and more to the point, LJ M can work while we're away!

M's second job is really awesome in that he gets paid money, and he does it from home and it's pretty interesting. It is the suck in that it takes hours to do. He works no less than ten hours and no more than twenty hours per week at the Prestigious Search Engine Job. (I can't remember if I made this pseudonymous or not. I don't think I did but how many prestigious search engines are there, anyway?) Complicating matters is that work is not necessarily always available, and he must take one day per week off from it due to laws preventing you from working seven days a week. However, taking two days a week off (as is often the case when we go spend the weekend with my parents) is pushing it because then he has to do all those hours on weeknights, when he doesn't even get home from the day job until seven. I, by the way, do indeed feel somewhat guilty about how he has two jobs and I quit mine, but only a little bit. He would be doing this second job thing even if I had gone back to work as planned, because it more or less fell into his lap* and it is awesome and all.

Yeah. Did not plan on writing about that. I was talking about my parents and how they have entered the technological age! I foresee a great many tech support calls in my future. Also, perhaps I should go check my archives to see if I need to friends-only a few entries... just in case. ;)

I think I dreamed recently that [livejournal.com profile] carrieb's grandmother gave me a piece of stale chocolate cake for Christmas. I just remembered that. That is kind of weird. Oh! Speaking of dreaming, I made M laugh for an entire day a few weeks ago. He came in to kiss me before he left for work. I was still asleep, so he woke me up, said goodbye, and I blinked at him and said, "Baby? What's the largest prime number?" Who knows what I was dreaming about THEN? I doubt it was cake. And FYI: A 26-year-old graduate student in the US has discovered the largest known prime number. The new number is 6,320,430 digits long. It took just over two years to find using a distributed network of more than 200,000 computers. He researched it for me. ;)

*We went back and forth on whether or not we could afford for me to quit. M is incredibly rational about these things, and I kept telling him that at a certain point you have to take a leap of faith. We managed to make the budget get pretty close, and so I quit my job. He got things settled with the second job that same month--it was not part of our calculations at all. As a very wise and unbelievably beautiful fictional character once said, things just sort of have a way of working themselves out. Look, M, I quoted Brae! :)
