Yesterday, I pulled a beetle out of my child's mouth. It was unspeakably gross, and yet, not so gross as it would have been mere seconds later. I saw her put something in her mouth and flew across the room to intervene, and thus, the bug was whole and unchewed. I cannot even imagine the revulsion caused by removing it in pieces. Seriously, I can't get her to eat zucchini bread but she will eat a bug? Kids are really, really dopey.

M vacuumed today. Perhaps we will not have a repeat of this episode.

Reminds me of the time my friend's daughter put a snail in her mouth while they were on a walk. So French of her, although where is it that they eat beetles?

I don't even want to know. I wasn't even sure it was a beetle at all. I was calling it a bug that "looked kinda like a little beetle or something" until she kept bringing me a 123 counting book that has seven different beetles in it yesterday, and one of them was clearly like the one she had tried to eat. Maybe she thought it looked tasty in the book? ;)
