Sunday afternoon
Apr. 7th, 2002 05:40 pmMy eyes are so sleepy, and it's the middle of the day. It's so silly.
We went to Papaw Brack's today, but got there and left earlier than normal. It was a quietish day.. Angie and her kids and the parents and Whitley and us.. that's all. We had good hamburgers and hotdogs, though, and the kids got to hunt for easter eggs outside, since it was actually pretty today and it rained last week. They seemed to have fun.
After we got home, we sat on the porch for a little while. Magnus was gluing his mandolin.. he'd cut some more today, without breaking a blade, even. At least that he mentioned. :) Anyway, we decided that we would paint the door facing and stomp cans. So I did the painting and he did the stomping, and generally had a kind of nice time outside. Only have one coat on the door because it wasn't drying enough for a second. Who knows when that'll get done. It's taken us six months to do the first coat. (Though that was sort of because it turned into winter.)
A particular cousin, to whom I used to be good friends with, showed up at Papaw's today quite unexpectedly. I heard him saying that he'd moved back for a while to work with his brother. I really didn't stay to hear more, though, and didn't really participate in the conversation, either. I know it's been a long time, but I still can't forget or forgive him for not being there when he should have. It just didn't leave me in the mood for small talk. We were close, or at least I thought we were, and he chose not to be any longer. Actually, the longer it's been since then, the more it annoys me. :)
Oh well. No big deal, just irritating.
Magnus is playing this game that I don't like. I mean, obviously I can't tell him to stop because I don't like it. *giggle* But I can certainly complain.. I'm pretty good at that. :)
